Woke up so early to attend the tournament, but scrubbed at the end! Tournament report just right below =)
Tournament: World Championships 2012 Singapore Qualifiers
Format: 6 rounds Swiss, cut off to top 16 elimination
Deck used: Asceticism Six Samurai
First Match VS Leo Lim (XYZ Scrap)
OO- = Win
First game was very hard because we've been practising against each other for many times which resulted in both of us knowing each other's playstyle well. He managed to destroy my [Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En] easily with his set cards such as [Solemn Warning] and etc. Till I had a field of [Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi] and [Heroic Champion - Excalibur] on my field that pushed him into a corner. Which he didn't have anything else to do and that resulted in my win in the first game.
In the second game, Leo had a bad hand, which he didn't have anything to stop [Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En] reign of the field.
Second Match VS Nian Jie (Rabbit Laggia)
OO- = Win
For game one, he didn't have cards to protect his monsters and was unable to summon out [Evolzar Laggia] to "be like a Shi En".
Game two surprised me as he summoned out [Alexandrite Dragon] to attack my face-down [Snowman Eater], which was a good play as if he had only [Sabersaurus] on his field, I would have been able to control him earlier. However I managed to summon out [Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En] again to control the tides of war.
Third Match VS Yu Leung[Hope I didn't spell it wrong!](Rabbit Laggia)
X0X = Lose
Okay karma from the Second Match comes to haunt me. Seeing a [Evolzar Laggia] standing there and acting like a boss is just too hard to fight!
Second game with [Snowman Eater] rocks when fighting against [Evolzar Laggia] though, its either I have [Psyqualia] from Cardfight! Vanguard or I am just plain lucky that I destroyed his facedown [Forbidden Chalice] first before [Snowman Eater] comes to save my life!
Third game was against his whole great wall of china worth of reverse cards. With so many traps and with me not having enough cards in my arsenal to be in an equal league against him. I lost the match to Yew Leung, good match though!
Fourth Match VS Kyo (Inzektor)
X0X = Lose
First round was good for Kyo as he went first and did a first turn [Number 12: Armored Ninja - Crimson Shadow]. With 2 face down cards, I tried my best to try to bust my way through his walls but to no avail.
Second round was me starting with [Gateway of the Six] along with the completion status of having [Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En] and [Grandmaster of the Six Samurai]. But seeing [D.D Warrior Lady] was a surprise for me so I quickly used [Effect Veiler] against her. I then used Grandmaster to declare an attack against [D.D Warrior Lady] and both of them went to have a little date due to [D.D Warrior Lady]'s effect. I then set down one card and ended my turn. His turn was his chance to make a comeback with the duo of [Inzektor Dragonfly] with [Inzektor Hornet]. However I stopped the combo from happening by activating [Macro Cosmos], which [Inzektors] are unable to perform with this card active. In that case, I won that game.
Third Game was a very hard fight for the both of us as we both managed to clear each other's backrow cards. However he managed to summon out [Inzektor Ladybug] and used its effect to equip [Inzektor Hornet] to destroy my cards. In that few turn I did not have cards that could deal with Ladybug as I sided out [The Six Samurai - Yaichi]. He was the only card that was able to be searched out by [Shien's Smoke Signal] and is big enough to combat against [Inzektor Ladybug]. But too bad, I sided it out and it costed my game. However, greatest match I had that day Kyo! Thanks alot! =D
Fifth Match VS Wee Min (Chaos Dragons)
X00 = Win
First game I got mind-tricked into just using [Effect Veiler] on [Chaos Sorcerer] instead of using [Bottomless Traphole] to get rid of this pesky card. That costs me my field control as he then summoned out [Effect Veiler] and tuned with [Chaos Sorcerer] to synchro summon out [Blackrose Dragon], and since I have already used up my only [Effect Veiler] that was in my hand, I couldn't stop Black Rose's field destruction effect.
Second game is.... Macro Cosmos is win, enough said!
Third game is... I'm so glad I had [The Six Samurai - Irou] in my main deck always, helps against [Lightlord Hunter - Ryko], [Snowman Eater] and flip effect friends!
Sixth Match VS Jonas (Inzektor)
XOX = Lose
First game, oh gawd Inzektors are so imbalanced!
Second game, Six Samurai with Gateway in play = yohohohoho!
Third game, oh gawd Inzektors are too strong, and I didn't draw any [Macro Cosmos] to stop em! Oh derp!
With this ending, I'll post up my decklist tomorrow =)
