End of ZeXaL... Rank the Rank-Up Magics!

Alright! Its been quite a long long time since the last post about the Asia Plus Qualifiers. If you have been keeping up with the anime, ZeXaL has already ended on 22/03/14. This means that a new series called Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V will take over the scene! Well before we get into the mood of Arc-V soon, lets just discuss about the last season of the ZeXaL series which mainly utilises the cards which has [Rank-Up Magic] in it.  Going from the bottom to the top! (Do note these are only in my own opinion so you can still feel free to rank them on your own opinion, just my 2 cents! )

In 6th place:

LVAL-JP059
[RUM-アストラル・フォース]
[Rank-Up-Magic - Astral Force]
Normal Spell
Target the 1 Xyz Monster you control with the highest Rank (your choice, if tied); Special Summon from your Extra Deck,1 monster with the same Type and Attribute as that monster you control but 2 Ranks higher, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) During your Draw Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard, instead of conducting your normal draw: You can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand. You cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this effect, except by the effect of "Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force".

Review:
Probably the least used R.U.M card among the 6, reason is perhaps that this card has too many conditions to be fulfilled, such as the upgrading monster must have the same attribute and type in order to rank up. Also, this card only allows for an increase of 2 ranks and not up to, making it an even harder card to use. However, it does have a self-retrieval effect that could combo with [Lavalval Chain] to discard it to the graveyard first, enabling you to get it as soon as possible to your hand. This card hasn't seen much play in the game these days till perhaps the release of [Number 39: Beyond the Hope]. Ranking up of [Herald of Pure Light] into [Number 16: Shock Master] or [Number 39: Beyond the Hope] into [Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand] for you? Another perk would be that the ranked up monster does not need to be a [CNumber] or [CXyz] monster.

In 5th place:

LTGY-JP060
[RUM-バリアンズ・フォース]
[Rank-Up-Magic - Barian's Force]
Normal Spell
Target 1 face-up Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck,  1 "Number C" or "CXyz" monster with the same Type as that monster you control but 1 Rank higher, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) Then, if possible, detach 1 Xyz Material from a monster your opponent controls and attach it to the Summoned monster as an Xyz Material.

Review:
The first R.U.M to be released in [Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy] pack, this card is actually alot better than Astral Force, because mainly the only condition for this card to be activated is for it to be the same type (for example: Warrior to rank up to warrior). Though nothing useful after that besides grabbing a xyz material from your opponent's Xyz monster. Though you could rank up into any Over-Hundered chaos numbers and then overlay it again for [CXyz: King of Hope, Barian] for high attack power. Also, ranking up a [M-X Invoker] into [Number C39: Utopia Ray] anyone?

In 4th place

JOTL-JP059
[RUM-ヌメロン・フォース]
[Rank-Up-Magic - Numeron Force]
Normal Spell
Target 1 face-up Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Number C" monster with the same Type as that monster you control, but 1 Rank higher, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) Then, if any face-up cards are on the field other than this card and the monster Summoned by it, negate the effects of those other cards.

Review:
Who doesn't like a card that seals the effect of other irritating cards? A big tide changer effect in this card brings about higher popularity. And yes, alike to Barian's Force, this card has lesser requirements such as only needing the same type to be ranked up. But this card can only rank up monsters into CNumber monsters.

In 3rd place:

PP16-JP018
[RUM-アージェント・カオス・フォース]
[Rank-Up-Magic - Argent Chaos Force]
Normal Spell
Target 1 Rank 5 or higher Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Number C" or "CXyz" monster that is 1 Rank higher than that monster you control, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) When a Rank 5 or higher Xyz Monster is Special Summoned to your side of the field while this card is in your Graveyard (except during the Damage Step): You can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Rank-Up-Magic Argent Chaos Force" once per Duel.

Review:
One of the best R.U.M cards! Even though the self-retrieval effect is only once per duel, it is actually quite easy to activate it, all by just special summoning a rank 5 or higher xyz monster. Also, the requirements to activate this card is just to be used on a rank 5 or higher xyz monster, which in my opinion, has no requirements at all. Too easy to use, too good. But for now, only popular with decks such as [Gimmick Puppets], [Hieratics], [Utopia Draw].

In 2nd place:

PRIO-JP058
[RUM-七皇の剣]
[Rank-Up-Magic - The Seventh One]
Normal Spell
If you draw this card with your normal draw during your Draw Phase, you can keep it revealed in your hand. At the start of your Main Phase 1, if you drew this card with your normal draw during the Draw Phase of this turn and it has been revealed in your hand since then: You can activate this card; Special Summon 1 "Number" monster from "101" to "107", except a "Number C" monster, from your Graveyard or Extra Deck. Then, Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Number C" monster whose name contains the same number as the Special Summoned monster, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon.) You can only use the effect of "Rank-Up-Magic The Seventh One" once per Duel.

Review:
The most popular R.U.M currently because of its swift summoning for powerful Chaos Over-Hundred Numbers such as [Number C101: Silent Honors Dark Knight] or even [Number C107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon]. Though the biggest drawback of this card is when you draw this in your starting hand (supposedly you only play 1 copy) and this card becomes a totally dead card that doesn't see any other use at all, unless you would want to discard this card away for card effects such as [Summoner Monk], [Raigeki Break], just to name a few. Well, we do see [Sylvan] decks that can combo well with this card because of [Sylvan Charity].

In 1st place:

ST13-JPV02
[RUM-リミテッド・バリアンズ・フォース]
[Rank-Up-Magic - Limited Barian's Force]
Normal Spell
Target 1 Rank 4 Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Number C" monster that is 1 Rank higher than that monster you control, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to that target also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.)

Review:
Best R.U.M out of all these others, why? No restrictions, and certainly no requirements (I know it needs rank 4 to rank up, but that certainly isn't a problem). Just easy access to Rank 5 such as [Number C101: Silent Honors Dark Knight], [Number C106: Giant Red Hand] or even a huge beatstick such as  [Number C69: Heraldry Chaos Crest]!

So among these 6, which is your favourite and why?

Well enough of ZeXaL I guess, time for Arc-V which is due to be telecasted on 6/4/14!
Lets go! PENDULUM SUMMON!

Great article.
But maybe Quick Chaos make itself the best RUM in-game the time it releases.

Yes I would have to agree when the official effect of quick chaos appears to be the same as the one related to the anime!
