Deck Review: Dragon Ninja

All right people! This is going to be the first and last post for the month of January by me, Dogchain! Sorry for this late post as I was busy testing out different builds for the recently released improved [Ninja] monsters.
As seen much in Shriek's website of the different decklists tested in Japan for the [Ninja] series. Most of them are being paired up with Dinosaurs type monsters such as the [Jurac] series because of their ability to quickly Xyz summon the formidable walking negation monster, [Evolzar Laggia].

I'm sure that many have tried to test out what can the [Ninja] series pair up with because of their newly released trap card in [Order of Chaos], the [Ninja Art of Super-Transformation]. If you do not know the effect of this trap card. Here it is below!

Target 1 face-up [Ninja] monster you control and 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; send them to the graveyard, then Special Summon to your side of the field 1 Dragon, Dinosaur or Sea-Serpent type monster from your deck whose level is less than or equal to the combined level of the sent monster(s). When this card leaves the field, banish that monster.

I've decided to pair the [Ninja]s up with Dragon type monsters to see how will they fare with each other. Which, at the right timing. New allies from the new structure deck [Dragonic Legion] provides the deck with even more powerful Dragon type monsters. Deck list right below!

Through many days of testing for the build of this deck. This is one of the most consistent and stable build that I've found out by trial and error. These are the various points of the deck that I'm going to point out for easy reference.

1. [Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo] is here because of its ability to search out the [Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation] or when special summoned, is able to search out for [Upstart Golden Ninja]. Because of its searching ability and a decent atk strength of 1800, it is a very versatile beat-stick plus being able to use for the [Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation] for its own protection to call upon a higher-level Dragon Type monster after searching this trap card out.

2. [Upstart Golden Ninja] is able to discard a unusable trap card which does not favor your situation into calling out [Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo] for easy Xyz Summoning of a Rank 4 Xyz monster such as [Lavalval Chain], [Daigusta Emeral] and a warrior exclusive Xyz monster, the [Armored Ninja - Blade Heart]

3. [Summoner Monk] is the versatility of this deck. It does not restrict itself to summoning only level 4 monsters such as the [Ninja] series. It is the only one card that is able to bring out [Eclipse Wyvern] as well as a Xyz Summoning material.

4. The Chaos Summoning series such as the [Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning], [Lightpulsar Dragon] and [Darkflare Dragon] are the only ones that can fully utilise the effect of [Eclipse Wyvern]. For those that do not know the effect of [Eclipse Wyvern] , here it is below!

If this card is sent to the graveyard; Banish 1 level 7 or higher Light or Dark Dragon-Type monster from your deck. If this card in the graveyard is banished; You can add the monster banished by this card's effect to your hand.

So why does the Chaos Summoning series work well with this card? Well, their ability to remove 1 Light and 1 Dark monster for summoning is helpful for [Eclipse Wyvern] as removing this card as a Light Material while in the graveyard is able to retrieve the Dragon-type monster that was removed previously by [Eclipse Wyvern]'s effect. A good monster to remove for [Eclipse Wyvern] in the deck would probably be [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon]. As since the Chaos Summoning series are mostly dragons in the ratio of 4:1. After removing [Eclipse Wyvern] and retrieving [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] would be a good chance to summon it immediately to swarm up the field with another Dragon-Type monster.

Plus [Eclipse Wyvern] is a good Rank 4 Xyz summon material because even as a Overlay-Unit, once it is sent to the graveyard, it's effect will still be activated nonetheless.

5. The new Dragonic Legion Allies : [Lightpulsar Dragon] and [Darkflare Dragon]. Before the explanation of this 2 monsters. Lets have a description of their effects right below!

This card can be Special Summoned from the hand by removing 1 light and 1 dark monster respectively from your graveyard. You can Special Summon this card from your graveyard by sending 1 light and 1 dark monster from your hand to the graveyard. When this card is sent from the field to the graveyard, you can target 1 level 5 or above Dark Dragon-type monster from your graveyard, Special Summon that target.

This card can be Special Summoned from the hand by removing 1 light and 1 dark monster respectively from your graveyard. Once per turn, by sending 1 Dragon type monster each from your hand and deck to the graveyard to target 1 card in either player's graveyard; Banish that target.

Now that we've seen the respective effects of these 2 above Dragon monsters. Lets give an explanation to their abilities.

For [Lightpulsar Dragon] its ability to send 1 light or dark monster to the graveyard is very useful and can be linked up to its 3rd Revival ability. This also brings about why [Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo] is also useful because when it is Special Summoned, it is able to search out another [Ninja] monster in the deck other than itself to be added to the hand. In this case for this deck, the only other [Ninja] target would be [Upstart Golden Ninja]. Then [Upstart Golden Ninja] can be a fodder from the hand to send to the grave for [Lightpulsar Dragon]'s self revival effect. A good dark monster fodder could be either [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] or [Darkflare Dragon] as once they are in the graveyard, it makes your opponent think twice about trying to get rid of [Lightpulsar Dragon] from the field and send it to the grave as if it calls upon [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] out, it may begin a infinite loop for a never-dying [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] and [Lightpulsar Dragon] combo, provided that cards like [Macro Cosmos], [Dimensional Fissure] or [D.D Crow]s do not break it.

For [Darkflare Dragon], its a personal favourite of mine because it has the ability to send 1Dragon type monster each from my hand and deck to the graveyard! Not caring about whether the banishing effect resolves. The only strong part is about the cost of activating the effect as it allows me to send [Eclipse Wyvern] or [Lightpulsar Dragon] to the graveyard for easy setup of future turn combos.

6. [Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon] is only there for fun as it is a 4th target for [Eclipse Wyvern] provided that all of your [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] are no longer in the deck for [Eclipse Wyvern] to benefit from. Plus having this card in the deck will make your deck pretty immune to the effects of cards like [Wind-Up Zenmaines] and [Gachi Gachi Gantetsu]

7. [Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning] , it is the strongest Chaos Summoning Monster, enough said! However as it is not a Dragon Type monster. It'd probably won't be able to continue anymore combos rather it will just be a huge threat to your opponent, distracting him/her from your other combos.

Cards that can be added to the deck

1. [Divine Dragon Apocralyph] can be a good addition to the deck as it can be a good setup to the never-dying [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] and [Lightpulsar Dragon] combo. Simply just discard [Lightpulsar Dragon], select a [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] in your graveyard and add it to your hand, then removing [Divine Dragon Aprocralyph] and summoning out [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] then reviving out [Lightpulsar Dragon] does it! If you guys have not discovered what [Divine Dragon Apocralyph] is. Here it is below!

Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from hand to activate this effect. Target 1 Dragon Type monster from your graveyard; Add that target to your hand.

2. [Dragon's Mirror] is a good card paired up with [Future Fusion]! However why I did not add that card to the deck is because by removing the other 2 more dragons with the [Eclipse Wyvern] does bring about 3 more hand cards advantage. However the other 2 dragons that were removed along with [Eclipse Wyvern] may be important pieces for swarming the field. So this is a good card, however you must be careful when using it.

3. [Escape from the Dark Dimension] is also another good card, however I chose [Different Dimension Reincarnation - D.D.R] over it as [D.D.R] is more generalised and it allows me to discard 1 card from my hand to activate. That means being able to discard cards such as [Eclipse Wyvern] and [Lightpulsar Dragon]. However [Escape from the Dark Dimension] is also good as sometimes you don't really want to discard important cards and would like to revive cards that were banished by your own [Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation]'s negative effect like [Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] and [Darkflare Dragon].

Cards Review: Inzecters. The New Craze?

Hi guys! Colin a.k.a Dogchain here! It looks like ever since the new booster pack [Order of Chaos] has been on sale. A large number of people have started to play the new archetype called [Inzecter]s! Instead of the long awaited [Ninja] monsters, [Inzecter] has been seen to have more participation in the tournaments held in Japan. As seen from the decklists of the top players at Shriek's website. Without further a do. Lets get the post going!

Inzecter Hornet
Effect Monster/Dark/Insect/LV 3
ATK 500/DEF 500
Once per turn, you can equip one [Inzecter] monster from your hand or graveyard to this card. While this card
is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's level by 3and the ATK and DEF by this cards ATK and DEF respectively. You can send this Equip card to the graveyard to target one card on the field. Destroy it.

Review: This is actually the main engine of the [Inzecter]s' deck. Because it is now the only one which is able to send itself to the graveyard while as an Equipment card in order to destroy one card on the field as well as start up the effect of the other [Inzecter] monsters. What are they? Lets look down further!

Once per turn, you can equip one [Inzecter] monster from your hand or graveyard to this card. If an Equip card equipped to this card is sent to the graveyard. You can add one [Inzecter] card from your deck to your hand. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's level by 3.

Review: One of the cards that will benefit from [Inzecter Hornet]'s self-sending effect. Not only is it a monster with a decent ATK strength. Its ability to search for any [Inzecter] card is a huge bonus as well. Any card means you are able to search for not only the monster cards, the magic and trap cards that are [Inzecter]-based are also decently strong.

Once per turn, you can equip one [Inzecter] monster from your hand or graveyard to this card. If an Equip card equipped to this card is sent to the graveyard. You can Special Summon one [Inzecter] monster except [Inzecter Damsel] from your deck. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's level by 3.

Review: The one monster that benefits the most while paired up with [Inzecter Hornet]. While hornet destroys one card on the field after sending itself to the graveyard. Damsel will then call upon another [Inzecter] monster from the deck. A good target would perhaps be [Inzecter Centipede] as it is able to use its once per turn to allow Hornet to equip onto it for another round of card destruction. Not to mention that [Inzecter Centipede]'s effect will also then activate. Allowing you to search for one [Inzecter] card to add to your hand. With this card and [Inzecter Hornet], the amount of advantage generated in a one card playing is huge!

You can equip this card from your hand to 1 face-up [Inzecter] monster you control. While this card is equipped to a monster, the equipped monster's Original ATK becomes 2400. If this card is sent to the graveyard while equipped to a monster: You can Special Summon 1 [Inzecter] monster from your graveyard, except [Inzecter Gigamantis]. The effect of [Inzecter Gigamantis] can only be activated once per turn.

Review: This card can basically be treated as a equipment card totally to boost up the ATK of your other [Inzecter] monsters. Easily searched out by [Inzecter Centipede] and also able to be Special Summoned by [Inzecter Damsel]. A huge beatstick with a decent effect of reviving a [Inzecter] monster from the graveyard except for another copy of itself. Do note though, that in order for the effect to activate, the monster that this card was equipped to , has to still be on the field. If its destroyed together with this equipment card. Its effect will not activate.

Not frequently used [Inzecter] cards:

Once per turn, you can equip one [Inzecter] monster from your hand or graveyard to this card. While this card is equipped to a monster, increase the equipped monster's level by 3and the ATK and DEF by this cards ATK and DEF respectively. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, you can destroy this card instead.

Review: Not very frequently used although it has a decent protection effect. My opinion being that since the new [Inzecter] series are fairly aggressive. There isn't much room for so much protection.
Other than that, a good card to consider if you would want important cards like [Inzecter Damsel] or [Inzecter Centipede] to stay alive!

Effect Monster/Dark/Insect/LV 6
You can equip this card from your hand to 1 face-up [Inzecter] monster you control. While this card is equipped to a monster, the equipped monster's Original DEF becomes 2600. If this card is sent to the graveyard while equipped to a monster: You can Special Summon 1 [Inzecter] monster from your graveyard. The effect of [Inzecter Gigaweevil] can only be activated once per turn.

Review: As [Inzecter]s are seeing much more popularity. It will mostly be natural that prices of [Inzecter Gigamantis] might be skyrocketed to a high price. This though, is a cheaper alternative of [Inzecter Gigamantis] although it doesn't work well aggressively. Nevertheless, its effect is quite good and also, its ability to Special Summon a monster from the graveyard does not have any other restrictions except for the "Once per turn" part. This means you might be able to revive back a big wall of defense to protect you for a time being! Not bad huh!

Alright! Since mainly the [Inzecter] series are being reviewed. I shall not start on the magic or trap cards of the [Inzecter] series just yet as I do not think that they are that powerful now. However, how about some tips on using [Inzecter] for a start?

Combo of the +4 card advantage

1. Activate [Inzecter Damsel]'s effect and equip a [Inzecter Hornet] to it. Send the Hornet to the grave
to select one card on the field to destroy it(+1). Damsel's effect will activate to special summon one [Inzecter] monster from your deck.

2. Using [Inzecter Damsel]'s effect, special summon [Inzecter Centipede] (+2) from your deck and activate it's effect to equip a [Inzecter Hornet] to it. Once again, send Hornet to the graveyard to select
and destroy one card on the field(+3). Centipede's effect will activate for you to search out one [Inzecter] card from your deck to be able to add it into your hand!(+4)

Combo of the Double Equipped Inzecter Damsel

1. Activate [Inzecter Damsel]'s effect and equip a [Inzecter Hornet] to it. Then, equip a [Inzecter Gigamantis] or [Inzecter Gigaweevil] to Damsel. Activate Hornet's effect to send itself to the graveyard, select upon the equipped [Inzecter Gigamantis] or [Inzecter Gigaweevil] and destroy it. Since two equipment cards were removed from [Inzecter Damsel]. You can activate it's effect to Special Summon two [Inzecter] monsters from your deck! Not to mention that Gigamantis/Gigaweevil's effect will also activate to Special Summon another [Inzecter] monster from your graveyard!

However, if you still do not understand on how to perform the following combos. You can always refer to this picture as a guide!

Something to build your deck with!

Hi guys! Colin here!

I've been thinking for awhile on how to help duelists out there build their decks!
Ever wonder if you have exceeded the amount limited to the size of your deck/extra/side and that pushes you to keep on counting and counting till you are assured that you have the correct amount?

Well Duel Society has come up with something to aid you in a convenient way!
Presenting to you the Duel Society's Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck Constructor Beta V1.1!
Its features are...

- Calculates the amount of cards in the various sectors of deck building( magic, trap or monsters etc.) but you will need to key in the values manually first before the system works up to calculate the total amount automatically.

- Able to determine whether you have exceeded the restricted size of your decks. Lets say that your main deck is only allowed 40 - 60 cards and you have accidently placed a wrong value in one of the slots, the system will calculate the amount and automatically determine whether you are within the restricted limit or not.

However, this system uses the Microsoft Excel program to open!

Tournament Report on Asia's Top Shop Tournament - Singapore Qualifiers @ Active Games Collections 19/11/2011 with Decklist

Hi guys! Been awhile since the last time I've posted! Well today's post will be about the Asia's Top Shop Tournament - Singapore Qualifiers held yesterday at Active Games Collections, better known to the Singapore Duelists as "Lorong Ah Soo". So lets cut short and head towards to main topic!

Tournament: YGO Asia's Top Shop Tournament - Singapore Qualifiers 2011
Venue: Active Games Collections
Number of Participants: 24 (3 from each shop)
Represented Shop: Asia Cards Shop
Number of matches: 4x Swiss rounds, Elimination for Top 8

Deck used: Asceticism Six

First Match VS Clarence/Clover (Agent Angel)
OO-

1st round: It was a tough fight at first since I didn't know what he was playing. I started off with the summoning of [Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki] in hope of using it's effect to special summon [Kagemusha of the Six Samurai]. However, Clarence's first action was to stop it with [Herald of the Orange Light], discarding another copy of it. Without much of a choice. I had to stall for 2 turns while Clarence tries to keep his field up with [Agent of Creation - Venus] and [Gachi Gachi Gantetsu]. While then I drew again, he [Trap Dustshoot] me and revealed my hand of [Gate of the Six], [Six Samurai United], [Kagemusha of the Six Samurai] , [Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan] and 2 more cards which I had forgotten what it was. He returned Kizan back to the deck and while I looked at my lifepoints which was currently quite healthy. I gave a turn pass and he continued his pummelling against me. In the next turn I draw into Kizan again. Which I started the engine of Gate and United. Summoning Kagemusha and Kizan. Searching for [Grandmaster of the Six Samurai] then another copy of Kizan. Which I then tune Kagemusha and one of the Kizans into [Brionac - Dragon of the Ice Barrier] and discarded a card from my hand to return his Gantetsu back to the extra deck. I then activated the United's effect to let myself draw 2 cards. After which I cleared his field and rammed his lifepoints by a significant amount. It was his turn again and there wasn't much he can do. Back to my turn, I activated Brionac's effect again to return whatever was left and went in for the win.

2nd round: He started off with the usual Venus and Gantetsu field Setup and ended his turn. I started off with the playing of [Dimension Fissure] to stop what I assumed would be in his hand cards, the most important of all to stop whatever I was going to do, the [Herald of Orange Light] and [Honest]. With that in calculation, I performed the [Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En]'s summoning and more. Although he got rid of him at the later part of the game. I had [Six Samurai - Zanji] and [Grandmaster of the Six Samurai] on my field for Zanji to cut through almost anything, including his [Archlord Krystia] which was bothering my Samurais for quite awhile. With that in place and holding my grounds. I got the win. Thanks Clarence! Great Match!

Second Match VS ??? (Machina Gadget)

1st round: He tried to [Limiter Removal] his [Machina Fortress] and [Machina Gearframe] but I managed to stop the kill from happening by using the handy dandy [Book of Moon]. Next up was having [Six Samurai - Zanji] and [Grandmaster of the Six Samurai] tagteam against his Gadgets. With much effort of battling and using of my traps. I finally broke down his defenses and rush in for the win.

2nd round: Got pummelled pretty badly with all the [Machina Fortress] and [Machina Gearframe] around and ended with a [Limiter Removal]

3rd round: Starting out with [Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En] and [Grandmaster of the Six Samurai] for an offensive start. He then started out with no monsters and set down 5 cards. Pretty defensive I would say. Back to my turn, I then played out [Six Samurai - Yai Chi] and destroyed one of his set cards which appeared to be [Dust Tornado]. After which I set down two face-down cards and ended my turn without conducting my battle phase. I spent for around 2 - 3 turns without conducting my battle phase and using the combination of Shien and Yaichi to hold my ground by clearing his backrow slowly. After which when his defenses were lowered down. It was an open opportunity to then let my monsters go in for battle and rush in for the win!

3rd Match VS Ernest Sim (TG Agent Angel)

1st round: I got totally destroyed by two copies of [Master Hyperion] and [Trishula - Dragon of the Ice Barrier]. Not even having a [Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En] and a [A.O.J Catastor] on my field can help me!

2nd round: [Dimension Fissure] with Shien and party sure helps to win games!

3rd round: [Dimension Fissure] in this round doesn't really help with big boss monsters going around. =/

4th Match VS Wan Xin/Xiao Mei (Dark World)

1st round: Tying down her magic with [Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En] and rushing in for the kill with [Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan] and friends with [Musakani Magatama] for help!

2nd round: Just didn't have the cards to stop the [Graphar - Dragon Lord of Dark World] from bringing itself back to continuously beat my lifepoints to zero.

3rd round: With my side deck properly in and having [Gemini Imps] help to negate cards like [Dark World Dealings] to stall for awhile. I ended up able to draw upon my [Dimension Fissure] to make things right!

Top 8

1st Match VS Lauren (Agent Angel)

1st round: Having [Archlord Krystia] around was quite a pain for me and I drew none of the protective traps that were able to deflect Krystia's attacks. Thus then I lost because of the special summoning lockdown.

2nd round: Even with [Dimension Fissure] around. [Royal Decree] is much much stronger! Jamming all my trap cards was terrible as there was no other way to protect myself from his monsters if I couldn't draw any of mine! Through many many turns, I finally gave in as my lifepoints was very low and I had no more monsters to protect me. It was a hell good of a match for that though, thanks Lauren! =)

Conclusion: Top 8 ,Well hopefully I'll get better next time!

Right as promised. Today's post will be about the 2 different builds to try to suit the OCG meta in Singapore! If some of you people are asking "Why the Non-Promo build". Well its mainly because in Singapore. During the times of grand tournaments that are being hosted here. Its a strict rule that there will be no "Promo" cards existing in our decks. Legend - ** is the difference between the both decks.

As for the extra decks for both decks. Practically anything you might wanna have inside it. The extra decks are quite generalized so I'll just leave it to you readers' imagination on what cards would you want to have in the extra deck instead.

The promo build is quite simple. Just try to summon out [Fabled Raven] as soon as possible to be able to utilise it's effect to discard multiple cards from your hand. I noticed that not many duelists run [Into The Void] in their Dark World decks. In my opinion, even though it has a high risk of discarding your whole hand during the end phase. There are still pros and cons for this disadvantage.

1. You are running a Dark World deck, this disadvantage can prove to be an advantage as discarding your whole hand is not a cost, its an effect.

2. Being able to draw one card from your deck means being able to improve your duel by 1 turn. Not much, but it might be able to help you carry on your combos.

"Absence of [Dark Hole] in the Non-Promo build. Why?"

Reason is simple, the promo build has Fabled Raven, which can actually be equalled to having 3 more Into The Voids. Which can prove for you to have a very small hand size at the end of the day. The Promo build has Dark hole in order for you to clear all of the opponent's monsters on the field even with little hand cards. The Non-Promo build doesn't have it as most of the time you are able to maintain the hand size. Though sure, you can still experiment on taking out 1 copy of [Into The Void] of the Non-Promo build to try to slot in 1 copy of [Dark Hole]. Instead in the absence of [Dark Hole] in the Non-Promo build, I've placed a copy of [Foolish Burial] for easy access to [Grapha - Dragon Lord of Dark World] and [Blackwing - Zephyrus The Elite].

Well, I'd be trying to form up more variations of Dark World theme decks with more options available. In the meanwhile, perhaps you people might wanna try these 2 decks out in Dueling Network or something. For me, I'd probably use the Promo Build in any of the casual tournaments that my country will be hosting. Soon, I Hope! Well then, till my next post! Happy Dueling! =)

Busy!!!!! With? The training for Singapore Asia Plus Team Tournament!

Well heya people. Its been a month since the last update. Well the bloggers of Duel Society, pratically speaking both Kenneth and me(Colin) have been training hard for the latest tournament that is coming up here in Singapore. Which is the Asia Plus Team Tournament consisting of 3 members in each team versus 3 members of an opposing team. Look at our training ground below! Well lets get on with the description for the upcoming tournament.

Each member will be fighting their own opponents at the same time with the usual best 2 out of 3 rounds in a match. So if lets say 2 of the winning team members won their best 2 out of 3 rounds, that team wins.

This may sound easy, but there is also a catch to it! The whole team will be sharing the banlist as well as the usual restrictions for the number of copies per card in the whole team. A few examples will be....

[Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning] is a restricted to one card. So only ONE copy is allowed in the WHOLE TEAM. So with 3 decks around, only ONE copy of this powerful card is allowed in ONE deck.
[Tragoedia] is a semi-restricted card. So its the same as the above theory, just that is a TWO instead of a one now. It also means that the card can be distributed around. Like example....

- I have one copy of [Tragoedia] in my deck.

- Kenneth also has one copy of [Tragoedia] in his deck.

And that is all for semi-restricted.
[Mystical Space Typhoon] also known as [Cyclone] is a unrestricted card. Which means you are able to play it at 3 copies! However, it follows the ruling of only 3 copies in the whole team. So same as the above theory for semi-restricted cards. You are also allowed to distribute it to the whole team if you want to.

With that said, I guess everyone understands the above rule stated for the upcoming grand tournament.

Thoughts about the banlist for September 2011

Hi guys, have you guys known about the news for the upcoming banlist due to be in effect on the 1st of September 2011? Well if you didn't know, below will be the list for the changes of the banlist to be taken effect on the 1st of september, as well as my own few cents of my thoughts for this upcoming list.

Listed are only the CHANGES

Banned:

Fishborg Blaster
- Removing this card will slow down Monarch and water based decks. Making them harder to function as a whole. Or actually, destroying the whole frog deck that uses this mainly to synchro out [Formula Synchron]. However restricting it to 1 is a little harsh. There are still quite alot of cards that can actually stop the cycle. But perhaps Konami has some hidden hatred for it? o.O

Mind Master
- Having this card at 1 is still not enough! Although this card can be stopped by [Effect Veiler] or when you are trying to revive it from the graveyard it will be stopped by [D.D Crow]. It is still able to be revive from the Removed From Game Zone. Which makes the cycle able to be repeated multiple times. As much as we can see the build of the one turn kill version from Dueling Days as well as the Lockdown version from Duelist Codex.

Giant Trunade
- Perhaps a routine change with Heavy Storm? Now left with only [Blackwing - Zephyrus of the Elite] to help recycle the usage of your [Limit Reverse] and [Call of the Haunted]. Not to mention that its even harder now to get rid of [Malefic Stardust Dragon]

Royal Oppression
- Yes! More special summon abuse! However this makes every duel ends even faster now. With the release of [Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning]. Junk Doppel, Lightlords anyone?

Restricted to 1

Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
- My awesome secret wish has finally come true! 7 years of waiting for this card to unban, always thinking that it will be impossible because of cards like [Honest] waiting to partner with it to try to gain a One Turn Kill move. But finally it has been released. However he isn't as strong as he was 7 years ago. Now with the removal of the Priority Ruling. He may just jump into a hole and die horribly to [Bottomless Traphole] without even removing a monster first. But we'll see how it goes then. 3000 atk? Not to mention a almost free Special Summon. Probably will make a big change to the current meta. This also motivated me to make a new banner for this blog to commemerate his return! =D

Debris Dragon
- No more super abuse of the Dragon Type synchro monsters with this level 4 revival effect tuner monster. With it at one makes you sometimes only able to choose to easily synchro 1 dragon type synchro monster at a time. Making the Debris Dandy deck not as stable as it was before.

Lonefire Blossom
- As what Bahamut84 of duelingdays said. This flower is really lone now. You'd probably wun be able to do a first turn [Shooting Star Dragon] summon or [Trishula - Dragon of the Ice Barrier] summon with just 1 [Lonefire Blossom]. However you are still able to do it if you have other plant type monsters in your grave.

Legendary Six Samurai Shi En
- Yes, the Legendary Six Samurai deck has just gotten a major nerf! Probably will not see it top the meta that much now. Or will it still prevail?

Tech Genus Hyper Librarian & Formula Synchron
- Restriction the both of them to 1 surely will make the decks powered by these 2 cards to go slower. And having to think further on when will be the best time to make use of [Formula Synchron]. Not to mention slowing down the summoning of [Shooting Quasar Dragon]. But still its manageable. This allows our extra deck to have more space for other Synchros/Exceed/Fusion to use.

Heavy Storm
- No more setting of 5 cards and ending of turn without having a backup such as [Starlight Road] for protection! Get your [Starlight Road]s now!

Primal Seed
- yes it is wtf? But I heard taking back [Honest] with a friend into your hand is good for health and for winning =D. But still, when will there be a chance for you to actually use it when [Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning] is only at 1 copy?

Shien's Smoke Signal
- More nerf to the Legendary Six Samurais!

Pot of Avarice
- Probably would die to a [D.D Crow] or [Transmigration Prophecy]. May I suggest using [Monster Reincarnation] in your decks now since [Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning] is back and [Pot of Avarice] is restricted to 1?

Restricted to 2

Summoner Monk
- More Exceed monster love~

Tradgoedia
- More defenses for the win! Not to mention it is able to change its level at will. Makes Exceed/XYZ summoning alot easier to achieve!

Necro Gardna
- with the above card [Tradgoedia], prevents yourself from being destroyed by [Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning] as said by Bahamut84 of duelingdays. Still with this card at 2 copies. More Graveyard Blackfeathers people? It would probably be a favourite [Dark Grepher] or [Armageddon Knight] target.

Dewloren - Tiger King of the Ice Barrier
- No more infinite amounts of summoning [Trishula - Dragon of the Ice Boundary] anymore~

Destiny Draw
- Some fun playing of [Destiny Hero] decks now anyone?

Swords of Revealing Light
- Um.... I heard [Heavy Storm] and [Mystical Space Typhoon] is an awesome card

Mind Crush
- You can now have more chances of random calling card names for the benefits of your [Dark World] monsters! Not to mention playing this with [Trap Dustshoot] is awesome too!

Call of the Haunted
- Take out your [Limit Reverse]!

No longer Restricted/Released from Banlist

Judgment Dragon
- O M G. Lightlords are probably going to top the meta with this. As there is no longer [Royal Oppression].

Spirit Reaper
- Not as powerful as it used to be. Konami is probably encouraging more direct attacks to your opponent using this card. Making them drop a random [Dark World] monster is delicious.

Overload Fusion
- Lets go [Future Fusion] + [Overload Fusion]!

Mystical Space Typhoon
- I'm still lacking of 1 OCG gold series copy...... With this card at 3, making control decks seem harder to play now. So many m/t removals!

Megamorph
- o.O [Arms Hole] anybody?

Gravity Bind
- Doesn't stop Exceeds/XYZ. But with that many mass destruction cards around. Probably wouldn't survive. Or maybe could be used as a bait to protect your other more "important" m/t cards

Icarus Attack
- Usually the Black Wing decks around would only put 2 copies. Being at 3 would promote more usage of [Starlight Road] or would probably be destroyed by [Mystical Space Typhoon] before you even will have 2 cards on the field for targets.

Hi guys, been about 2 weeks or so since the last post about the Singapore Qualifiers for the World Championships. The above was the deck that I used for the tournament.

This deck is identical to the Japanese build for their own tournaments for this Debris Junk Doppel deck, the only difference that I had was that in Singapore, no promotional cards were allowed to be used, so this would probably explain the absence of [T.G. Hyper Librarian], [Shooting Quasar Dragon] and many others. With this, my only hand size solution was controlling it with [Formula Synchron]. With that in mind, I decided to put in a surprise guest of [Shooting Star Dragon] since many would rather have added in [Splendid Rose] instead of [Shooting Star Dragon] for the availability of another Synchro monster to be summoned out by the normal kind of tuner monsters.

Same as Dsummon from Dueling Days, I had a problem of choosing who to put into the main deck, the choices were [Holy Barrier - Mirror Force] and [Mind Control]. [Holy Barrier - Mirror Force] would be able to fend off relentless attacks while I would grab the chance of that 1 turn to try to set up my field to go for the win. While [Mind Control] would be able to clear off 1 single monster on my opponent's side of the field to allow me to use it for an Exceed summon or Synchron summon, whichever the situation beckons.

My decision was then to pick up [Holy Barrier - Mirror Force] because it would mean to be another form of defense as a bluff to allow my opponent's [Breaker the Magical Warrior] and [Mystical Space Typhoon]to destroy them while leaving my [Limit Reverse] and [Call of the Haunted] alone for me to revive the appropriate monsters to pull off powerful stunts.

Tournament Report on the YGO World Championships Singapore Qualifiers 2011 on 03/07/2011!

Hi guys! Been a month since i last updated duel society. Well it has been a busy month because of my national service and because of it, I had to spend all my weekends on my country's national day parade preparations. But still I spent quite alot of time practicing my skills on dueling network! Which actually helped quite abit to help me to understand my deck's pros and cons. Well enough talking and lets get it started! Below is the tournament report for the tournament. Apologies as it was a long day, there were some matches I can't recall.

Deck used: Debris Junk Doppel

First Match VS Shaun Lin (Machina Gadgets)
OO-

1st round: With Shaun starting out with a bad hand of very little backrow cards. I was able to succeed in summoning out [Shooting Star Dragon] which he was unable to kill with a solo backrow of [Holy Barrier - Mirror Force]

2nd round: Again with [Shooting Star Dragon] by my side. He apparently also had only 1 set cards which was revealed to be [Bottomless Traphole]

Second Match VS Kaven Sue [Offering Gadgets]
XX

1st round: I wasn't really able to overcome all of his backrow cards. Tried to stall with a defence position [Debris Dragon] against his gadgets but was totally destroyed by [Limiter Removal]

2nd round: None of my side deck cards appeared for usage. And again I died by [Limiter Removal]

Third Match VS Seto Jie [Quick Junk Doppel]
OXO

1st round: I managed to pull of a quick flood of field having 1 Brionac, 1 chaos sorcerer and 1 Dark Armed Dragon on the field to go in for the kill,

2nd round: Apparently, Seto did the same thing back to me! Must be karma =X

3rd round: It was a long match so we had a tough fight of using our magic and trap cards for protection and our [Effect Veiler]s for stopping alot of horrible stuff from happening. In that scenario of when both our resources went dry. I managed to pull off a few synchro summons first that Seto didn't have anymore resources to overcome. However, It was a fantastic match!

Fourth Match VS Calvin Ang [Graveyard Black-Feathers]
OO

1st round: I can't recall much sorry

2nd round: Apparently we tried to stall against each other for a very long time. Until I summoned out [Chaos Sorcerer] and tried to remove his [Black Feather - Sirocco of the Dawn] away from the game but he chained upon [Deck Devastation Virus] which revealed my hand of another [Chaos Sorcerer] and a [Glow-up Bulb]. The bulb died and which I activated its effect to bring itself back to the field. I synchroed for [Black Rose Dragon] to clear the field and then I summoned out the other [Chaos Sorcerer] from my hand, special summoned [Spore] from my graveyard by using its own effect. Synchro for [Scrap Dragon] and attacked. His life was quite low at that point, which he drew upon a monster and set it face down. My turn came and I drew upon [Dark Hole] which was lucky for me as it was not a monster of 1500 atk or less. I set my [Dark Hole] and activated [Scrap Dragon]'s effect to destroy it and his face down monster which was revealed to be another [Black Feather - Sirocco of the dawn]. This enabled my [Scrap Dragon] to declare a direct attack for the kill.

Fifth Match VS Ting Jun [Tech Genus Scrap]
OXO

1st Round: He drew a bad hand which allowed me to clear board with [Trishula - Dragon of the Ice Boundary] and then went in for several direct attacks for the win.

2nd round: [D.D Crow] is just too strong, with his life floating at a point of 1200, he removed my [Lonefire Blossom] away from the game when I tried to revive it with [Limit Reverse]. This had me lost my chance for calling out [Mystic Tomato] for the kill.

3rd round: I can't remember, really sorry.

Top 16 First Match VS Akira [Machina Gadgets]
XOO

1st Round: With both of us playing very cautiously and carefully, Akira is really a tough foe to go against because of all of his years of YGO experience. Without doubt he destroyed my monsters and field with a [Limiter Removal] affected full field of Gadgets.

2nd Round: I slowly tried to gain advantage by having [Dandylion] and friends on my field stalling with [Formula Sychron] as my shield. Having [Mystic Tomato] attacking his [Green Gadget] and then summoning out [Sangan] was the only hope I could have some card advantage over him for awhile. As I managed to pull off surviving various assualts. I managed to summon out a few other bigger monsters and overcoming his set cards to win.

3rd Round: As the Judge called for time out once after Akira activated his [Solemn Warning], he was at a 2000 lifepoints disadvantage already. With that I tried to defend against his attacks as much as possible. Clearing his field till I had a [Armory Arm] and 2 Doppel Tokens on my field to reduce his life further. With my set card [Holy Barrier - Mirror Force] face down. He tried to push through my field with [Machina Fortress] but was deterred away by my face down card. Thanks to that, I got my win. However this was the most epic match of the day. Thanks to that, I learnt alot! Thank you! Akira of Duelist Codex!

Top 8 First Match VS Kaven Sue [Offering Gadgets] <---- yes again!
OXX

First Round: I managed to go pass his set cards and stopped his searching of gadgets by using [Effect Veiler]. This allowed me to slowly build up my field which then allowed me to assualt his lifepoints to go in for the win!

Second Round: I swear that [Royal Oppression] is too powerful!

Third Round: Having my [Deck Devastation Virus] stopped by his [Solemn Judgement]. I totally did not have anymore resources against his gadgets. Which he went off to killing me with a 2800 pumped up [Green Gadget] affected by [Limiter Removal]

End of tournament Results: Top 8.

Yes 8 is the magic number! Well it was a fun day and I learnt alot more from all of my different matches. Congratulations to Daniel Ang for winning this year's YGO World Championships Singapore Qualifiers 2011!

I'll be revealing my decklist in the next post as sleep is slowly overcoming me.

Thoughts about the Upcoming World Championships Singapore Qualifiers

Hi guys! I've more free time these days so I decided to post a little bit more here.

Well i've been pondering what deck should I play for my nationals here in Singapore. And here i've quite a few deck choices in mind. Though My decision is most likely made up on which deck to play. What are your suggestions people? =D

- Agent Angel

Dogchain exploring the trend of Dueling Network!

Well its been quite awhile since I've ventured into the world of Dueling Network! Met lots of awesome, fun players with some of their very creative decks. But not to mention that there were some spoil sport players around who just ain't that friendly at all.

Apart from all the above, I've noticed alot of the trendy cards and decks used in Dueling Network, cards like [Reborn Tengu] a TCG exclusive card from the TCG version of Extreme Victory and also players play-testing decks like the upcoming [Dark World] deck with [Grapha - Dragon God of the Dark World] inside it.

I wouldn't say [Grapha - Dragon God of the Dark World] is all that powerful, however it does have a decent effect to special summon itself from the graveyard by returning one face-up [Dark World] monster from your field to the hand. And no, it does not have the ability like its other [Dark World] friends to special summon itself immediately when being discarded from the hand to the graveyard. However, it does have an effect when being discarded by cards effects into the graveyard. It is as follows,

- When being discarded by an effect, select one card your opponent controls and destroy it

- When being discard by your OPPONENT'S card effect, you will have the above number 1 effect PLUS the ability to randomly look at one of your opponent's hand cards. If the selected card is a monster card, you can special summon it to your side of the field.

And I kinda have a card in mind that makes [Grapha - Dragon God of the Dark World] a lil' bit more powerful in its abilities. This perhaps would come to anyones' mind too,

Activate only when your opponent activates a Normal Magic card. Pay 1000 life points.
The effect of the Normal Magic card that your opponent activated becomes "Your opponent randomly discards one card from his/her hand".

Now this is quite a good card in my opinion, although it only allows usage against normal magic cards. So cards like [Mystical Space Typhoon](Quick-Play), [Ancient Gear Town](Field) or even [Black Whirlwind](Continuous) will not be able to have their effects changed by [Dark Deal].

So by paying 1000 lifepoints, your opponent's whatever normal magic effect will be erased and changed into [Dark Deal]'s designated card effect. Your opponent will then discard one card from your hand at random. So do not be confused. Although you are the one that activated [Dark Deal], your opponent will discard one card from your own hand instead. And this is counted as your opponent's card effect! If he so luckily selected your [Grapha - Dragon God of the Dark World] in your hand. You can activate both of his discarding abilities!

It's been a long while.

Hi guys, this is the gonna be the rarest post you'd ever get to see by me. LOL.

Yes I haven't posted anything in years. Yes years. So recently I'm back in the game, just in case not many of you have seen me playing Yugioh around and yes, my current decks are Blackfeather variants. I actually don't understand much of the game now as I literally disconnected from the game about 2 years ago. Currently, I'm trying to relearn much of what I've missed out so don't mind me being a noob all over again k!

And if you ask me, I'd prefer to play Whirlwind BF in comparison to the current trend of playing Graveyard BF. I'm not sure but, I find myself with a really small hand size after a few turns and I don't really like playing decks with small hand (yes I like playing drawhore decks like you know who from duelingdays) but I didn't have the cards to form the Librarian + Formula decks. Give me another few months and I might just eventually convert!

That aside, Colin & I has started playing Vanguard too! So, if you guys happen to play and see us, just say hi and we could enjoy a game together!

Tournament Report on Weekly Card Master Tournament 09/04/2011

Hi guys! Been awhile since I last updated on this old blog of mine. 7 Months have passed hasn't it? Well enough reminiscing and time to get the post running off!

Weekly Tournament at Card Master J cube
Deck Used: Quickdraw Quasar

First Match VS Ting Jun (Scrap)
XX-

First Match - I practically had a bad hand with all the tuners in it and nothing to use for synchro-ing any synchro monsters out for turning the tide =/

Second Match - Practically got owned by [Forbidden Lance]! My [Trishula - Dragon of the Ice Boundary] attack power was reduced by half, thus losing control of the field and scrubbed! T_T

Second Match VS Vishal (Black Feathers)
OXO

First Match - First Turn [Shooting Quasar Dragon] is awesome!!!!

Second Match - [D.D Crow] is also very awesome! Removing away [Grow-Up Bulb] in my graveyard from the game makes life very sad!

Third Match - Although I did a first turn [Shooting Quasar Dragon], He managed to remove it away from the field and also removing away my [Shooting Star Dragon] as well! Thou I won by trying to summon [Trishula - Dragon of the Ice Boundary]

Third Match VS Kkbz/Jeff (Debris Dandy)
OXO

First Match - Again I activated [Giant Trunade] and attempted to perform a first turn [Shooting Quasar Dragon] stunt again. Apparently it went through smoothly and so I went in for the kill!

Second Match - With all the [D.D Crow]s flying around, it was really hard for me to pull off any stunts. Although I was able to defend off the [D.D Crow]s using [Imperial Iron Wall], however that wasn't enough because when it was up to his turn. He [Cyclone]d the [Imperial Iron Wall] and summoned both [Dark Armed Dragon] and [Chaos Sorcerer] to go in for the kill!

Third Match - We both stalled for a few turns till I had all the materials I needed to do the Quasar Stunt. But with the stalling of although only a few turns, I had to gamble whether he had [D.D Crow]s in his hand. Apparently He didn't draw the [D.D Crow]s and I managed to summon [Shooting Quasar Dragon] to try to gain control. He had only 2 set cards left and I had also a [Card Gunner] and a [Black Feather - Zephyros of the Elite] on my field. He managed to remove my [Shooting Quasar Dragon] and when it's effect activates to summon out [Shooting Star Dragon], He negated it with [Divine Warning]! But I still had 2 monsters on my field to go for 2 more direct attacks. Jeff had no other cards left to defend himself so I was able to go in for the kill! Nice Match Jeff!

Fourth Match VS Milton (Gravekeepers)
OO-

First Match - I managed to survive a few turns of until I was able to draw upon [Giant Trunade] to allow me to get rid of Milton's set cards and his field magic [Necro Valley]! This then allowed me to pull off the Quasar Stunt and go in for the kill!

Second Match - [Lightlord Lyla] was the one trying to help me to remove all of his [Necro Valley]s! Though she always has trouble facing off against [Bottomless Traphole] Again this made Milton use up some resources. And when I finally drew upon [Giant Trunade] again, I summoned out [Shooting Quasar Dragon] to again go in for the kill!

Results for the day: 3 wins 1 lost but unable to head up to top 8!!!! = Scrub =/

Well at least most of the results of the day was winning instead of losing so at least that's some consolation for me =P Below here is the decklist for the deck I was using. Its a little different in the build from Bahamut84 of Dueling Days but the idea originated from him.

This deck the same as the [Junk Doppel] deck, being able to perform many synchro summons on a turn and also allowing you to have a hand advantage over your opponent if performed successfully. It goes like this.....

Step 1: Summon Junk Synchron and attempt to revive Grow-Up Bulb from your graveyard if you have already one inside

Step 2: Special Summon from your hand Doppel Warrior after reviving Grow-Up Bulb

Step 3: Synchro Junk Synchron and Doppel Warrior for Tech Genus - Hyper Librarian and synchro Grow-Up Bulb with one of the doppel tokens for Formula Synchron

Step 4: Assumoing you have Magic Striker in your hand, remove away from game on magic card in your graveyard and special summon magic striker from your hand. Synchro both Formula Synchron and Magic Striker for another Tech Genus - Hyper Librarian

Step 5: Revive Grow-Up Bulb again from your graveyard by using it's own effect(provided that you haven't already used its own effect). And synchro the last doppel token along with it for another Formula Synchron

Step 6: Synchro 2x Tech Genus - Hyper Librarian and 1x Formula Synchron for Shooting Quasar Dragon! By the time you have this done. You should have quite alot of cards in your hand. It will then be your choice on how you want to continue the turn from then depending on what you have drawn.

Both bloggers gone for awhile due to National Service

Yes as what the above titles suggests, the 2 bloggers of Duel Society. Naming me and Kenneth, will not be around for quite a long time because......

1) Kenneth is currently serving his time in National Service.

2) Me, Colin is going to start serving my turn in National Service on the 16th of September! Which makes today one of the last three days that I still have my freedom!

So actually I'm going to express some of my thoughts today. Not really on the game but ya.

I'll just summarise it perhaps in a short paragraph.

I'm actually regretting why haven't I posted more during my free time. Now that I'm heading to serve my time in National Service as a army man. I would most probably deplete my time totally to it. Not having much time to update this blog anymore. OR if fortunately, updates will still come up, but only on rare occasions. I really appreciate all the effort that my readers take to visit my blog every time. Only to find disappointment that there isn't much updates being brought up by me. I sincerely apologise upon this. Hopefully after my National Service, I will be more responsible and blog more about dueling in the world of YGO =D (Hopefully!)

Again, thanks to all my readers! This blog is not closing down. Duel Society will still remain open here for readers to refer back to previous posts. And who knows? Perhaps one fine day, a rare update might just appear for you guys to read up on.

Thoughts on Banlist (09/2010)

Right! Been awhile since my last update on the World championships 2010 singapore qualifiers during June. So this coming post will be about the latest changes to the banlist that will be taking effect from the start of this coming September 2010. Below will be my thoughts for it. Let it roll!

Newly Banned

Rescue Cat 『レスキューキャット』
- No more abusing it on pair with [Summon Priest]! No more calling on two copies of [X-Saber Airbellum] to go for double directo attack! Resulting in 2 hand card loss for your opponents! No more quick synchro summoning of [Arcanite Magician] resulting in most of the time, a 2 cards loss on your opponent's side of the field almost instantly. Poor cat =( *pats*

Substitoad 『イレカエル』
- With this "toad" banned from the game for at least 6 months before it might be released into the light again. This probably will just stop the FTK or OTK of different kinds of frog variation decks. I haven't had much time to experience an all out OTK or FTK by a frog deck. So I hadn't had much idea on what to say for this toad. But by all the rumors and also a frog deck winning this year's world championships 2010. It would seem that this card has caused a very big impact in the game. Banning this card will stop the repeatable cycle of being to summon out different frogs for synchro summoning or for feeding it to [Mass Driver] for FTK purposes.

Brain Control 『洗脳－ブレインコントロール』
- I'm gonna cry, its my favourite card that wins games! But surely enough, no easy grabbing of your opponent's monsters in hope of gaining a swift victory! Scenarios like.....

1) Grab your opponents low level monster, use it for a synchro summon and then ponch ponch!

2) Grab your opponent's monster with high attack and aim for a directo attack. Most probably killing him if without any defenses.

3) Grab your opponent's monster! Use the "Hit and Release" technique!

Heavy Storm 『大嵐』

- Following Bahamut84 of dueling days on this: Stupid control decks can now set 5 M/T without fear of [Heavy Storm]! How to touch myself! Though ya there is still [Giant Trunade] around! And probably good because there is now one lesser card for [Starlight Road] to negate! *cough cough*

Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Boundary 『氷結界の龍トリシューラ』
- Summoning one copy of it is already capable of giving your opponent quite a big disadvantage! Imagine being able to summon 3 copies till your opponent gets pretty screwed up by its powerful effect of removing 3 cards away from the game. Restricting this card to a single copy is a pretty good idea though! (I only have one copy thats why! =D)

Monster Reborn 『死者蘇生』
- Yes Konami has seen the light! Favourite card of all time! Guess in this new banlist, as what Bahamut84 of dueling days said. This will be the new card that win games! Witness the prowress of reviving your opponent's [Goyou Guardian] then using it to snatch another of your opponent's superior monster to be at your disposal! This is getting me pretty much excited!

Dark Hole 『ブラック・ホール』
- Woo! It doesn't matter to me whether [Heavy Storm] is banned! Usually I would rather the monsters get destroyed so that I can still declare attacks! Regardless of my opponent's magic and trap cards. That is actually how reckless I am while playing =X. Oh come on! But even so, more [Starlight Road] love anyone? Or is anyone willing to find their [White Hole]s to counter-attack [Dark Hole]? =P

Black Whirlwind 『黒い旋風』
- Slows down the theme monsters [Black Feathers], however they are still going strong in this metagame with their support cards and all. Usually some [Black Feather] themed decks will win even without the support of [Black Whirlwind]. Lets just see how much will it affect them in this banlist shall we?

Infernity Gun 『インフェルニティガン』
- With this card restricted to a single copy per deck, this lowers the possibility of allowing [Infernity] decks to be able to OTK their opponents in an instant. However still with the help of [Monster Reborn], things are still possible! So by limiting this card... Ok, at least it lowers the violence level of the deck.

Royal Oppression 『王宮の弾圧』
- Being at one copy? Lesser worries of a special summon seal!

Newly Restricted to 2

Chaos Sorcerer 『カオス・ソーサラー』
- Being at 2 copies brings back more hope and violence for Twilight decks. Can see this card being abused in the near future. Lets just see how it'll fare then!

Snipe Hunter 『スナイプストーカー』
- More [Fabled/Demon Roar God] love? Easier filling your graveyard of light and dark monsters to feed to [Chaos Sorcerer]. Its un-confirmed destruction effect makes it able to "most probably" snipe the all-famous [Stardust Dragon]

Mystical Space Typhoon 『サイクロン』
- I always preferred this card than [Dust Tornado]. Reason being that it is a quick-play magic card. Able to activate at almost anytime! Now with two copies of [Mystical Space Typhoon], who needs so many [Wild Tornado] or [Twister]? Just destroy all the [Royal Oppression]s, [Black Whirlwind]s, [Royal Decree]s and [Infernity Gun]s away with [Mystical Space Typhoon]!

Magic Cylinder 『魔法の筒』
- Orz okays, its really not that safe to try to directo attack your opponents even with [Dimension Prison] and [Mirror Force] out of the way. Although this card does not remove your monsters' prescence. It can still kill you if your superior monsters fall into this trap. Being at 2 copies now means it will be able to deal even bigger damage to you or your opponent! More [Mental Sphere Demon] in your extra decks anyone?

Ojama Trio 『おジャマトリオ』
- Easy, activate and summon the tokens to your opponent's side of the field. [Dark Hole] for easy 900 damage to your opponent's lifepoints! =D

Newly Unrestricted/Released from Banlist

Black Rose Dragon 『ブラック・ローズ・ドラゴン』
- Woo! More [Starlight Road] love people! Junk and Debris decks will surely love the comeback of this card at 3 copies. Pair it up with [Monster Reborn] for better results =D

Cyber Dragon 『サイバー・ドラゴン』
- Who now really needs [Vice Dragon] when [Cyber Dragon] is back at 3? Faster synchro summoning, big beatstick, faster advance summoning too. Combo with [Super Fusion] and [E-HERO Prisma] for better results? =P

Goblin Zombie 『ゴブリンゾンビ』
- Enables more searching of your zombie type monsters! Doesn't really happen to have much impact on this metagame yet from my opinion.

Treeborn Frog 『黄泉ガエル』
- Yes yes, taking one out with [D.D Crow] isn't enough anymore! More [Crack of the Different Dimension] people!

United We Stand 『団結の力』
- Nowdays we like to flood our field with [Dandelion Tokens]! So with so many in flooding, how about giving them some love to deal some damage to our opponents? Sounds good? =D

Royal Decree 『王宮のお触れ』
- So much trap card hatred! But with 2 copies of [Mystical Space Typhoon] around. It shouldn't be that much of a problem.

Overall Review: From this new format, all we can see are more and more mass destruction that will probably rain on every match that you will be playing coming this september? This will also probably just increase the sales of [Starlight Road]! Do remember that [Starlight Road] is being reprinted soon in the latest [Fudou Yusei Duelist Pack 3]! So Konami will mostly want more love for this card since it will be made available for usage for the grand tournaments in the asia countries excluding Japan in the near future. So guys... Get more [Starlight Road]! =D

Tournament Report on World Championships 2010 Singapore Qualifiers!

Yes I'm back! Apparently! And I know its been awhile since I posted, for around 5 to 6 months? Well I've also been MIA-ed for YGO and been trapped in the world of warcraft(which I'm actually starting to get pretty bored inside of it lololololololol) And so... YGO has perked up my interest for it again~! Okay to cut it short, below are the results of my tournament yesterday =D

Deck Used: Junkyard Assault A.K.A Commonly as Dandy Warrior

First round VS Javier (Gladial Beasts)
OXO

First round it was due to constant Synchro Summoning of Junk Destroyer and for him to be without and Gladial Beasts on his field for me to destroy his set cards which was one [Gladial Beast Chariot] and another trap which unfortunately I wasn't able to recall.
Second round I was pretty much getting controlled with all the Gladial Beasts driving their Chariots around banging all my [Debris Dragon] and [Junk Synchron] here and there =(
Third round was the Win with the [Lightlord Monk Eileen] that Techy gave me for me to kick a few direct attacks at my opponent hoho, ending the match with [Wicked Emperor Gaius].

With that, I passed the eliminations!

Second round VS Sorry I really can't Recall your name >.< (Machina Gadgets)

His build of the deck was too much of a control deck, with so much [Fissure] and [Smashing Ground]s running here and there, I just couldn't bear to sacrifice my [A.O.J Catastor], so in the end I had to keep summoning [Junk Destroyer] to try to get a lead in field card advantage. But it could also meant that he had a bad hand, since my [Junk Destroyer]s usually died to [Fissure] and [Smashing Ground]s instead of the traps. Second Round, Nothing to say, [Royal Oppression] and [D.D Crow] owns all =D Third Round, Early lead with [Drill Warrior] and [Dandelion tokens] gave me free attacks because all he had set down was [Bottomless Traphole] till I decided to [Junk Destroyer] his reverse cards, forcing him to activate it before I summon [Wicked Emperor Gaius] to target itself, dealing a final 1000 damage to his lifepoints for the win! Great match!

Third Round vs Xiao An (Black Feathers)
XX-

This first round with Xiao An teaches me one thing, NEVER EVER farm too much with [Drill Warrior]! Even with 4 tokens trying to protect me against a one turn kill, it is still possible! So when there is a chance to destroy 3 - 4 cards on the field with [Junk Destroyer]...Just destroy the whole world!
Second round, [Royal Oppression] rules! Enough said!

Overall, thanks for the learning experience Xiao An!

Fourth Round vs Bixuan (Cat Synchro)
OXO

First Round: Early lead with [Junk Destroyer] is nice!
Second Round: Again... all my [Royal Decree] were milled away~~~~ So [Royal Oppression] was there to kill me with his one standing Synchro monster there!
Third Round: [Royal Decree] rocks! [Wicked Emperor Gaius] for the win too!

Overall, thanks for the great match Bixuan!

Gah spit on [Gadgetron Dragons]!!!!! LOL!

Deck Review: Junkyard Assault MK 3

Right after a long delay, its time for update! This is a new and improved [Junkyard Assault] that I made last time. So below is the decklist for the new and improved deck =O. However this time, it uses one of Fudo Yusei's Tuner monster called [Quick Synchron]! So let it roll!

This deck is quite simple to play with actually, if you have [Charge of the Light Brigade] on this first turn, use it to search for [Lightlord Hunter - Raikou] to either send it to the graveyard or do anything with it to send it to the grave. Why? Its because it is a good target for either [Junk Synchron] or [Debris Dragon].

Although this deck only has 2 level one targets to be special summoned by [One For One], there is usually [Pot of Avarice] to shuffle back monsters like [Tuning Supporter] or [Level Stealer](usually you would just want to shuffle back [Tuning Supporter]!) in order to use [One For One]!

Neuxcharge said that my [Jutte Knight] is really standing out in the whole deck! LOL! But the main reason for this tuner to be inside the deck is for it to be searched by

- Reinforcement of the Army
- or special summoned by [Road Warrior]

Simple as that!

And I learnt that [Tradgoedia] is skill! Having it to use its effect to change its level to 2 is simply amazing! Why? Its because of [Junk Warrior] that will increase its attack by all the level 2 monsters on the controller's side of the field. So how about having a high powered attack [Tradgoedia] (provided if you have the hand size) to power up your [Junk Warrior] for you!

Furthermore, this deck is highly grave-dependent in order to begin the process of self touching!(Baha's very phase and move). If your graveyard already has [Bolt Hedgehog] and [Tuning Supporter], and by luck you also did drew a [Pot Of Avarice] into your hand. Most of the time you would be self touching til you have at least 3 synchro monsters onto your side of the field!

But if you versus last boss decks such as [Dimension] decks. I think its pretty much a scooping game! However, if you could last long with all the [Raigeki Break] coming into your hand and allowing you to use them. You might just pull through!

In the previous tournament that got me 5th place in using this deck. I learnt one lesson!

ALWAYS HAVE [GIGANTECH FIGHTER] IN YOUR EXTRA DECK!

Tournament at Khatib on 6/12/09

Right guys, another update since like almost 7 days ago. Today's update will be on the Khatib's weekly tourney that I've manage to attend because I had off on the day =D. I didn't win any prizes but ok, at least I got into 5th place after not attending any weekly tournaments for such a long time! So below are my matchups.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Khatib Weekly Tournament on 6/12/09
Deck Used: Dimension Gladial Beasts
Format: 3 round Swiss and then Elimination

First Match Vs Bahamut84(Junk Blade Deck)
OO- = Win

I was pretty lucky when Baha didn't had the right cards to do a FTK when he started first, which allowed me to set up my field to try to prevent the FTK from working. So yes! It was plainly luck! Which resulted in extreme hatred from him for the whole day at Khatib T_T.

Second Match Vs Clarence (Secret Deck, Not sure whether he wans it to be revealed or not lol)
OO- = Win

Okay I'm quite luck in that sense too, Clarence told he that he made a wrong move or not I would have dieded pretty badly =O. It all thanks to him letting my field set up for one turn. So ya, I pretty much won the above 2 self touching decks by good luck! =X

Third Match Vs No One

Since I've already won 2 matches in a row, I do not need to play the third match lol!

Fourth Match Vs Bye
- - -

Luck was with me! Those with 2 wins would need to pick a random card, if the card picked is a magic, he or she will proceed to the next round immediately, so ya. I picked the magic card =D

Fifth Match VS Joseph (Zombie Synchro)
XX- = Lose

Looks like the luck had all been used up! Died cause when I needed monsters, no one came to my rescue, when I needed magic and traps, nothing came! So yes, luck fully used up! By the way my deck only had 10 monsters! Could be the reason due to them not coming to rescue me lol!

So total Results = 2 win 1 lose = 5th place but still... SCRUBBED! More practice!

Deck Review: The Shining Zero

Alright as promised on what I had written on my tagboard, today will be an update for the weekend! Today's content will be on a new deck that I've just tested it out today. It isn't as fast as a normal fusion Summoning deck that Bahamut84 from duelingdays built. So it would actually need more improvement to try to be more competitive next time( thats why it is called "MK I")

In conjunction to the decklist, here is a explanation of [E-HERO The Shining]'s effect for people that do not know.

Effect Monster, Fusion, Level 8
ATK 2600/Def 2100
1 [Elemental Hero] Monster + 1 Light Attribute Monster
This card cannot be Special Summoned except by a Fusion Summon. This card gains 300 attack points X the number of [Elemental Hero] monsters in your out of game pile. When this card is sent from the field to the graveyard, select up to 2 [Elemental Hero] monsters in your out of game pile and add it to your hand.

Right how this deck works is pretty simple!

Step 1: Summon [E-HERO Prisma] and throw either [E-HERO Sparkman] or [E-HERO Ocean]

Step 2: Activate [Miracle Fusion] and fusion summon either [E-HERO The Shining] or [E-HERO Absolute Zero] depending on which material did you send to the graveyard.

Step 3: Smack your opponent!

However the above doesn't really work against a [Eatos Beat] deck that uses cards like [Dimension Fissure] and [Macro Cosmos]. As those cards will kill your grave and make you be unable to use [Miracle Fusion] to fusion summon. [Royal Impregnable Fortress] also does the same thing too. So watch out for them!

Another card that is totally skill for this deck is [Super Fusion]! As it uses your opponent's monsters as well to fusion summon for your own fusion monster! Greatly competitive against decks like [Lightlords] that has a ton of Light Attribute monsters for you to steal to fusion summon out your [E-HERO The Shining]. Stealing any of your opponent's Earth or Water Attribute monsters will also result in a fusion summon of [E-HERO Gaia] or [E-HERO Absolute Zero]. Best of all is, after [Super Fusion] is activated, no other cards can be chained in response to this card. So nothing will be able to negate this card's activation(unless its an on-going effect and does not require activation) and [Royal Oppression] will not be able to negate this card either.

In any case, more improvement will be done once I have received my [E-HERO The Flash]!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Asia Championships 2010 Singapore Qualifiers on November 15 2009

Ok I scrubbed too with Bahamut84 from duelingdays on this day! I was playing a [Lightlord] deck by the way lol. Fought with 2 [Lightlord] decks, 1 [Twilight] deck and 1 [Graveyard Vayu] deck. Oh my god wtf bbq?

So here are my results summary for the day.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Asia Championships 2010 Singapore Qualifiers 15/11/09
Deck Used : Lightlord
Format: 5? 4? round Swiss

First Match VS unknown ("Pure" Lightlord)
OO- = Win

Won in the first round due to rushing him with [Lightlord Beast - Wulf] and the usual method of having [Judgement Dragon] blasting the field and winning it for me. Second round was due to me having a [Judgement Dragon] in the first turn hitting him for 3k lifepoints! He [Brain Control]ed it and hit me back in the face! Before releasing it for his own [Lightlord Angel - Cherubim]. I then [Monster Reincarnation] my [Judgement Dragon] and did the same winning trick lol!

Second Match VS "Sorry I forgot your name! >.<" (Lightlord)
XOX = Lose

Lost in the first round due to decking out! Second round I Won due to rushing him dead on. And in the 3rd round... Overwhelmed by [Judgement Dragon]!

Third Match VS Sebastian (Twilight)
OXO = Win

Won in the first round due to the same old [Lightlord] tactics, however that took alot of brain cells from me! Sebastian is really a very very very strong player that will take away your braincells! And the most funny thing was, we were always checking both players' graveyard lol!
When the first round ended, we only had around 15 mins if I am not wrong. Sebastian got his win at the his 4th turn due to his [Lightlord Magician - Laila] ramming onto my [Lightlord Beast - Wulf] and spamming 2 copies of [Honest] for the win! On the last round where it was sudden death. We only had 4 turns, and at the end of the 4th turn. Whose life was the highest would win. So here goes. I started out first and had 3 copies of [Lightlord Summoner - Lumina] and 1 [Lightlord Warrior - Garoth] on my field. I started to keep overturning my deck till I'm left with 13 cards in my deck and resulting in one [Lightlord Beast - Wulf] special Summoning to my field with 3 [Necro Gardna] in my grave. When it was Sebas' turn, he summoned his [Lightlord Summoner - Lumina] and overturned one copy of [Necro Gardna] to the graveyard. Then it was back to my turn, I released my [Lightlord Warrior - Garoth] and summoned out [Lightlord Angel - Cherubim] to destroy his [Lightlord Summoner - Lumina] to aim for a direct attack to his lifepoints! He blocked my [Lightlord Angel - Cherubim]'s attack and took the attack from my [Lightlord Summoner - Lumina]! Sebas couldn't find a way to bash into my lifepoints with the 3 copies of [Necro Gardna] in my grave so ya, I won him by sudden death for the last round. It was the greatest match of the year Sebas! Nice One!

Ok guys, I'm mugging badly for my exams so there won't be any updates for this week until my exams are all over! (its only 2 more days LOL). So meanwhile, a friend of mine named "Plant" is hosting a tournament this coming Sunday, 13th September 2009 at Khatib's Nee Soon South CC. So please do support him if you guys have the time =D. Its a miracle! I've posted again in such a short time! Well had been playing for the past 2 days trying to refresh my skills on the game. So at that same time, the rulings for [E-HERO Prisma] was questioned. Since I've been playing on the rulings that it was not a cost, which is actually following TCG rulings. I found out that the OCG rulings was that [E-HERO Prisma] effect is a cost. This is going to be so fun! =X Anyway below are some rulings belonging to [E-HERO Prisma]

1st Question

Question: 「E・HERO プリズマー」は、融合モンスターを相手プレイヤーに見せて、そのカードに記載されている融合素材モンスターを墓地に送る行動が、効果を発動するためのコストになりますが.

Translation: Is the effect of [E-HERO Prisma] a cost to reveal a Fusion Monster and select a Fusion Material Monster stated on the card to be sent from the deck to the grave?

Answer: 「E・HERO プリズマー」の効果を発動するためのコストとして、デッキから墓地へ送る事ができるモンスターカードは、融合モンスターカードに融合素材モンスターとしてカード名が記載されているモンスターカードのみになります。

Translation: It is a cost to send a Fusion Material Monster card from your deck to the graveyard. stated on the Fusion Monster card in order to activate [E-HERO Prisma]'s effect.

2nd Question

Question: 「E・HERO プリズマー」の発動コストとして、「F・G・D」等のような、記載されている融合素材モンスターとしてカード名が記載されていない融合モンスターを相手に見せて、「F・G・D」に記載されているドラゴン族モンスターをデッキから墓地へ送る事はできますか？

Translation: To activate [E-HERO Prisma]'s effect, if [Five God Dragon]'s Fusion Material Monsters with no specific name is being selected. Can I send a Dragon Type monster from my deck to the graveyard?

Answer: 「E・HERO プリズマー」の発動コストとして、融合素材モンスターとしてカード名が記載されていない「F・G・D」を選ぶ事ができず、ドラゴン族モンスターを墓地に送る事もできません。

Translation: To activate [E-HERO Prisma]'s effect, a monster such as [Five God Dragon] cannot be selected because it does not have a Fusion Material Monster with a specific name, thus you are unable to send a Dragon Type monster from your deck to the graveyard.

3rd Question

Question: 「禁止令」の発動時に、「剣闘獣ベストロウリィ」と宣言されている場合、フィールド上に存在する「E・HERO プリズマー」や「ファントム・オブ・カオス」の効果によって、「剣闘獣ベストロウリィ」のカード名を得る事はできますか？

Translation: When [Prohibition] is declared on [Gladiator Beast Bestiari], can [E-HERO Prisma] and [Phantom Of Chaos] activate their effect and gain [Gladiator Beast Bestiari]'s name?

Answer: 「禁止令」を発動する前から、「E・HERO プリズマー」等が、既にフィールド上に存在する場合、「禁止令」の発動時に「剣闘獣ベストロウリィ」が宣言されている場合でも、そのカード名を得る事ができます。また、「剣闘獣ベストロウリィ」のカード名を得た場合でも、「E・HERO プリズマー」にて攻撃宣言を行ったり、表示形式を変更する事ができます。

Translation: Before [Prohibition] was activated and [E-HERO Prisma] was on the field already. When [Prohibition] is activated and declared on [Gladiator Beast Bestiari]. [E-HERO Prisma] name can be changed to [Gladiator Beast Bestiari]. If [E-HERO Prisma] did not change its name to [Gladiator Beast Bestiari] , it can declare an attack and change its battle position.

4th Question

Question: 「禁止令」の効果が適用されている時に、「剣闘獣ベストロウリィ」のカード名を得た「E・HERO プリズマー」等は、攻撃宣言や表示形式の変更等のカードのプレイを行う事ができますか？

Translation: After [Prohibition] is activated. Can [E-HERO Prisma], whose name has been changed to [Gladiator Beast Bestiari]. Declare an attack and change its battle position?

Answer: 「禁止令」の効果が適用された後に、召喚・反転召喚・特殊召喚された「E・HERO プリズマー」の効果によって、「禁止令」の発動時に宣言された「剣闘獣ベストロウリィ」のカード名を得る事ができます。しかしながら、カード名を得る事によって、「剣闘獣ベストロウリィ」と同名扱いの「E・HERO プリズマー」をプレイする事ができなくなる為、攻撃宣言や表示形式の変更を行う事ができなくなります。

Translation: After [Prohibition] is activated and [E-HERO Prisma] is being summoned. If [E-HERO Prisma] has its name changed to the declared [Gladiator Beast Bestiari], it is unable to declare an attack or change its battle position.

Thoughts on Banlist (09/2009)

Ok we are abit late in posting reviews about the new banlist! But here is the update that I promised after all my projects are done! =D. If you still haven't seen the latest changes to the September banlist, then I will suggest that you readers visit shriek's website or even duelingdays for more information! Right, lets get the review going on!

Newly Banned

Card of Safe Return [生還の宝札]
- Well with the combination of [Level Stealer] and this card that is going on, though not that popular yet. Konami will see this as one of the top combos to be commonly used in the future? No doubt that they will ban this card with crazy draw power! Not to mention with the return of [Mezuki]! Seems that decks that are based on revival effects are going to slow down =(

Crush Card Virus [死のデッキ破壊ウイルス]
- With this card gone, how are we going to stop high attack powered decks like the famous [Emperors] or even the [Black Feathers](I don't know if this card actually stops them LOL!)? But ya, it actually reduces support cards for dark decks even further.

Dark Dive Bomber [ダーク・ダイブ・ボンバー]
- No more FTK/OTK decks circling around this card again! However they banned this card when it ain't even one year old yet! Konami totally gives no chances! =X

Monster Reborn [死者蘇生]
- What comes out has to go in again! (this excludes the business from your ever daily life!) But ya with such a imbalanced revival card. It will have to be banned again sooner or later. It was fun while this card lasted =) (./hate people to revive my neos to their field!)

Newly Restricted to 1

King of the End Demise [終焉の王デミス]
- Yes, I agree with DS. Why do they even want to restrict this card to a single copy? Perhaps there is a sort of hidden OTK deck that features demise in it?

Mental Master [メンタルマスター]
- Same as the above, I have no idea why would they want to restrict this card to a single copy. Perhaps I haven't been seeing the world much!

Rescue Cat [レスキューキャット]
- With this card in the restricted to 1 section, it would seem that alot of decks that features this would lose out in speed again. Such as [Gladial Beasts], [Cat Synchro] etc. But I don't think there will be anymore [Cat Syncro] around anymore?

Mind Control [精神操作]
- Stealing your opponent's monsters is bad! Konami wishes to reduce theft! Well not that actually, by restricting this, you are actually slowing down Synchro summons.

BF Gale of the Hurricane [BF-疾風のゲイル]
- Lets see how well [Black Feathers] will go on while this card is being restricted to 1. [Vayu] based [Black Feathers] deck will still go on well I guess?

One for One [ワン・フォー・ワン]
- Oh shiat! My [Kuriboh] deck! Perhaps this card was collaborating with [Mental Master]?

Solemn Judgement [神の宣告]
- Uh.... Control decks sort of lost their "control" ? Well its really the first time (for me) that this card has been touched on. Well it is godly considering the cost of activating this card while your life is really at its lowest peak.

Summon Priest [召喚僧サモンプリースト]
- Same comments with [Rescue Cat]

Cold Wave [大寒波]
- Once at 3, very spammable! Now at 1, not so spammable! Think about when to use this card to grasp the control for that turn!

Black Rose Dragon [ブラック・ローズ・ドラゴン]
- A level 7 synchro monster, very easy to summon!(or not sometimes) With a powerful field clearing effect. Restricting this card to 1 makes this emergency button have only a one time usage!

Call of the Haunted [リビングデットの呼び声]
- With [Monster Reborn] gone, I supposed they will have to allow this trap revival to return. Not as fast as [Premature Burial] or [Monster Reborn], but still as powerful with the ability to chain! Visit duelingdays for more information!

Newly Restricted to 2

Bottomless Traphole [奈落の落とし穴]
- Though I always play 3 copies of it in any control decks that I possessed. Still playing at 2 makes me able to put in some other cards! (2 is really quite enough =X)

King Tiger of the Ice Boundary Dulauren [氷結界の虎王ドゥローレン]
- Right! Thats it for frog OTK! No more [Seal of Heritage] nonsense!

LoneFire Blossom [ローンファイア・ブロッサム ]
- Lesser speed for plant control decks. With like the above, lesser [Seal of Heritage] nonsense!

Chaos Sorceror [カオス・ソーサラー]
- My [Kuriboh] deck is very happy! Really! Making this card at 2 can cause some kind of chaos by removing monsters that you do not want to see on the field! Examples like [Black Feather - Armored Wing], [Gigantech Fighter] and more!

Mezuki [馬頭鬼]
- Woot! Zombie meta beat anyone? Oh craps [Solemn Judgement] is at a single copy! Ok then! Zombie Synchro anyone? (Is it possible?!)

Newly Unrestricted/Released from Banlist

Wind Monarch Raiza [風帝ライザー]
- With this card at 3 copies, I think we might be seeing more of [Level Stealer] based decks? Back to the days when this card is totally irritating!

Destiny Draw [デステニー・ドロー]
- With [D-HERO Diabolicguy] at 2 copies, it is still good at 3 copies! [D-HERO Diamondguy] anyone?

Fissure [地割れ]
- [Scapegoat] is the way to allow all your goat tokens to die under the earth!

Magical Warrior Breaker [魔導戦士ブレイカー]
- 3 is very strong and very favourable! Combo with [Apprentice Magician] for better effects! [Endymion] decks also anyone?

Forest Guardian Green Baboon [森の番人グリーン・バブーン]'
- After the errata....? Uh... I don't think anyone would want to play it anymore lol

D.D Warrior Lady [異次元の女戦士]
- Yes you go girl! This card will be able to get rid of irritating monsters with irritating effects like... same as [Chaos Sorcerer].

Well my overall thoughts for this banlist is that its disappointing to see [Judgement Dragon] not being touched here. So it will seem that [Lightlords] will be the most unaffected decks in this new format that we will be facing this coming september. Yes! After a freaking long wait of almost exactly one month! Duel Society has an update! Lets cheers!!!!! Or not? Anyway readers, we are very sorry for not updating much on this blog until it made it look like its... almost.. dead! But of course its not! Alright! Lets get down to business! The difference in this version with the other versions of the [Wrath Of Neos] decks is that this deck is able to pull off the [Wrath Of Neos] trick in a even faster pace. Besides the usual...

Step 1: Activate [E-HERO Prisma]'s effect.

Step 2: Activate [Wrath Of Neos] and blow the whole field!

Since this is the only way in the deck in the past... Now we are in the future! Or I can say the present, we have a new equipment card appearing in the new [Warrior's Strike] deck. Which is the [Supervis] equipment card! I'm sure by now since this is a slow update, everyone should know about the [Supervis] equipment. As this equipment powers up [Dual] monsters quite considerably. A new way to play around in this deck will be...

Step 1: Activate [Supervis] and equip onto [E-HERO Another Neos], his name will be [E-HERO Neos]

Step 2: Activate [Wrath of Neos] and KARATE CHOP THE WHOLE FIELD!

Step 3: [Supervis] is being sent to the graveyard! Its time for the revival effect! Bring [E-HERO Neos] into the playground!

Step 4: Slap your opponent upside down with [E-HERO Neos] and ... (copies Baha's phrase) "FUCK OFF!" Sorry about the vulgarity! Got influenced!

Well as simple as that! Another method to use [Supervis] in this deck will be..

Step 1: Equip [Supervis] onto [Evoltector Chevalier]

Step 2: Activate [Evoltector Chevalier]'s effect to destroy one card on the field, by sending [Supervis] to the graveyard.

Step 3: Using [Supervis], bring [E-HERO Neos] to the playground again!

So actually this version is mainly focused on reviving [E-HERO Neos] to beat on as fast as possible and try to end the game quickly. If the game drag on too long, this deck will not have enough resources to hang on!

And if you guys are wondering about what [Hero Counterattack] is doing there. Its effect is to be activated when a [E-HERO] monster on your field is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the graveyard. Giving your opponent to randomly choose a card in your hand, if the selected card is a [E-HERO] monster card. Destroy one monster on your opponent's side of the field and special summon the selected [E-HERO] monster onto your side of the field.

Usually [Hero Counterattack] is used to try to at least do something with all the [E-HERO Neos] that are stuck dead within your hand cards. No doubt [Commoner's Charity] will be able to do the same. However I find that [Hero Counterattack] has quite a good effect to boast. But in terms of really using it, the chances are actually pretty low as it is quite situational. And plus, monsters these days don't die by battle! They die by some disgusting effect! *cough cough*

For those that do not know how [Hero Counterattack] looks like, below is a picture of it.

This card can only be activated when a [E-HERO] monster on your side of the field is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the graveyard. Your opponent randomly selects a card in your hand. If the selected card is a [E-HERO] monster, destroy one monster on your opponent's side of the field, then special summon the selected [E-HERO] monster from your hand to your side of the field.

Some people may even ask this question,

Some random kid: "Oniichan! Why don't you put [Arms Hole] into your main deck?"

Me: "Well these days, not having a monster on your field for a turn even with alot of protective cards around ain't going to help much. So risking a turn's normal summon to search for an equipment card isn't really worth it. The metagame these days ends a game too quickly I say! Plus since I have so many filter cards that are able to search for various cards in my deck, drawing upon the 3 copies of [Supervis] and the one copy of [D.D.R] shouldn't be too much of a problem! I think? =X"

Well its true though, I always draw the [Supervis] equipment card into my hand, just that the [Dual] monsters didn't come into my hand! Or either all the [E-HERO Neos] are in my hand.... *cough cough*

Overall this deck is quite balanced, but it hasn't been fully tested against this metagame's dominating decks such as [Black Feather], [AKB] and so on so forth. So hopefully I will be able to test against some of these decks.. soon!

Well thats it for today's update! Short but hey! I've lost some touch in writing reviews after not updating for a month! Or more than that =X.. Well its just 2 more weeks till my projects will all be over!!!! This blog master needs some air to breathe! *poof!*

There will also be a Yu-Gi-Oh Trading card game Tutorial session for all beginners and also for people who are unsure of the game. Attractive prize will be given away to lucky draw winner on the event.

There will also be a Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading card game Challenge Session for anyone to challenge the players at the booth. If a win is secured, you are then able to win yourself one pack of booster. Depending on the sponsor, the booster given out will be decided earlier before the actual tournament or on the tournament day itself.

The Challenge session has been cancelled on that day. =(

Card Review: Fortune Slip

Right after a long wait, finally a card review! Lets not slow this down and get on with it! Today's card review will be on a card from the latest booster pack "Ancient Prophecy"! The card we are reviewing today is [Fortune Slip]!

Normal Trap
Activate only when your opponent declares an attack with a monster, negate that attack and remove the attack target of that monster away from the game till the standby phase of your next turn.

Right reading from the text, although this card protects your monster from your opponent's attacks, it doesn't destroy the attacking monster and removes your own monster away from the game too! So how does this actually help you turn the tables around if you are up against a high powered and irritating monster that your opponent is controlling?

So here goes, how about letting [Fortune Slip] remove some kind of monsters that has an effect while being removed away from the game? Or when leaving the field too! Monster cards like [Fortune Lady Lighty] and [E-HERO Absolute Zero] has a effect that is to be activated when they leave the field. [Fortune Lady Lighty] has an effect to special summon another [Fortune Lady] when it leaves the field and as for [E-HERO Absolute Zero], an absolute destruction to your opponent's monsters can be assured when it leaves the field.

Or how about powering up monsters that has been powered down by their effects? Using this card to remove away from the game a 1900 attack strength [God Beast King Babaros] will return it back to the field during the end phase to its normal 3000 attack strength! Or... How about using [Fortune Slip] on a 800 attack strength [Light And Darkness Dragon]? You will be able to use its negating effect again once it has returned to your side of the field with a full 2800 attack strength!

There can also be a very very lame or funny combo to be done with [Fortune Slip]! Here goes nothing!

Step 1: Your opponent has 2 monsters, one of them focus its attack on your [Necro Gardna]

Step 2: Activate [Fortune Slip] and remove your [Necro Gardna] away from the game!

Step 3: Your opponent's second monster declares an attack!

Step 4: Activate [Burial From A Different Dimension] and return [Necro Gardna] to the graveyard!

Step 5: Remove [Necro Gardna] away from the graveyard and block that attack =/...

Now from the above, you can also see that [Burial From A Different Dimension] can also be a threat against your monster that has been removed away from the game by [Fortune Slip]. Returning your [God Beast King Babaros] or even [Light And Darkness Dragon] and not allowing it to return to the field can be a very big loss. So do watch out for it!

Right yes I know I know, it has been 10 days! Since I last said that I would want to update this blog =X, and I haven't had much time these days so.... Oh well! Lets forget about that and concentrate on this newly formed deck of mine! Today's deck review will be on the return of one of my best decks during the era where there was [Graceful Charity] and [Magician of Faith]... Oh how I missed them! But hey! This deck has been improved because of the latest cards also! Here goes nothing! Presenting the [Kuriboh Emperors] deck!

Well above is the decklist for the [Kuriboh Emperors]! Its been awhile since I last had a new deck idea in my mind. Till then which I thought that there were extremely no draw power for this deck until... The card [Allure of Darkness] came to my mind! The combo of activating [Kuriboh Calling Flute] to add a [Kuriboh] to your hand and then using it as a bait for [Allure Of Darkness] seems tempting! So I decided to try it out! Who knows it does work well! However inconsistency does happens in this deck, because there is no level 4 monsters! Its either your monsters are way to big to summon, or way to small to fight against your opponent's monsters.

The common combo for this deck would be first to activate [Kuriboh Calling Flute] to summon out either [Hane Kuriboh] or [Kuriboh] and release them for a advance summon of a [Emperor] monster! However which ever [Hane Kuriboh] or [Kuriboh] you choose is important, because they can also be bait for 2 of the more powerful cards such as [Chaos Sorcerer] and [Dark Armed Dragon].

Since the appearance of the Psychic-Type monsters and also [Emergency Teleport]. Advance summoning and Synchro summoning has became a sinch until [Emergency Teleport] was restricted to a copy per deck! Well it still helps in these 2 ways in this deck. For quick Advance Summoning wise and as for Synchro Summoning wise, we have quite alot of level 6 monsters, which combines with [Clevonce] for level 8 Synchro monsters. Or if all fails, you can always Synchro a level 1 [Kuriboh]/[Hane Kuriboh] with [Psycho Commander] for [Arms Aid]! [Mental Master] helps in tuning with the level 6 [Emperors] for [Dark Dive Bomber] and [Black Rose Dragon]! [Cyber Dragon] is also in the deck for either a versatile level 5 or for the advance summoning of higher level monsters.

Anyways, I've tried this deck against [Lightlords] and [Black Feathers], hadn't had a chance to test it against the famous [AKB] deck because Baha was too lazy to form it back for me to try against! Anyways it was not a very good result against [Black Feathers]. Seems like this deck doesn't have the extra speed to face off again them yet. More tuning will be required!

However when faced off against [Lightlords], speed for this deck ain't really a problem. The defenses of this deck suppresses the [Judgement Dragon]'s ability to keep blowing the field up! Try blowing a set card which is actually a chain-able [Kuriboh Calling Flute] and see what happens! It actually gives us a chance to shield ourselves with [Hane Kuriboh]! Trap cards such as [Waboku] is also quite a card to safeguard against [Lightlords] as well. Works as well as a [Kuriboh Calling Flute] =X... What Baha said about this deck facing [Lightlords] was... "Colin, I think before you even can win them properly, they would have already decked out!" LOL! True might be a slow victory, but if it secures you a win. Why not? =D

I will continue to test against other kinds of deck to see how well will this deck fare against them. And I will continue to tune this deck to its highest limits too! So in the meantime, any ideas from you readers out there will be greatly appreciated! Oh my, its 1.30am in the morning! Time to go! Cya people!

Well today was a battle of 5 rounds of swiss! And the deck that I was using for the day was the [Light Undead Meta Beat] lol, it should be quite familiar to all you readers out there, since it was one of the few top japanese decks before the march banlist =X. Well since this tournament did not allow [Mezuki], guess quite alot of changes had to be made. But no excuse though, I still did badly for this tournament LOL! Well below is my quite embarassing score board =(

Round 1 VS Tuning Supporter Deck OO-

Won with a 2-o in that round because it seems that the deck was doing all fine, having my [Royal Oppressions] coming to me whenever I feel like it! Though it took quite awhile for the 2 of us to finish the match because I just didn't have my monsters and my opponent didn't want to attack me so.... yea it took quite awhile lol.

Round 2 VS Gadget Emperor XX-

Quite the normal [Gadget] decks until a sudden appearance of a [Dark Emperor Gaius] totally shocked me lol. The deck started to lose the feel because the monsters wasn't appearing! So were the [Skill Drain]! I had 3 copies of it and none came out =(

Round 3 VS Lightlords OXX

Won the first round because my hand was good, controlling the field with [Royal Oppression] and [Skill Drain] with just a [Honest] in my hand to suppor the light undeads on my side of the field. The second round turned out that I didn't draw any monsters, so as with the third round, the card [Trap Eater] is very very strong!

Round 4 VS Black Feather XOX

Finally get to versus a [Black Feather] themed deck, well I thought that I was quite well prepared for it however, in the first round. I went second so I set down my [Solemn Judgement] and [Bottomless Traphole], I end my turn and you know, I got the [Delta Crow Reverse] impacted on me! Then it was back to his turn and he did the normal Black Feather Dark Dive kill combo. In the second round, I'm suspecting that he had quite a bad hand has he didn't have any cards to protect his lifepoints. So having 2 [Darkness Gear - Gokuen] and 1 [Dark Dragon Knight] pounding on his lifepoints earned me my victory for that round. In the third round, my monsters came but neither of my important magic or trap cards arrived.. So expected,
I lost it to my opponent. But it was a great and very very fast match. The only slow part was when I was side - decking my deck lol. Took awhile for me to decide on what might be the best to side into my deck for that match lol.

Round 5 VS ????

There wasn't a round 5, my opponent didn't turn up lol. So yea. I will consider this match as a lost instead of a victory gained because of a walk over lol.

Results: GOT OWNED VERY VERY BADLY!

Thoughts: So overall, I should be smarter next time! If you can't beat the [Black Feathers]... JOIN THEM! Plus there are quite alot of interesting decks that came out during the tournament. Losing this time helped me gained even more ideas on what to play in the next tournament. But as what Baha mentioned, perhaps [Arcanite Beat] will be the trendy deck thats running around till next June? Well we won't know till then! In anycase....

Alright people! Sorry for the late update, well I supposed that many of you have seen the latest banlist changes at shriek or duelingdays! If not below here is the list and the thoughts about the latest banlist changes =)

- Now this is quite a nice one, never have all my 5 years of YGO life have I seen a banlist with no banned cards! Thou I would wish for a few cards to be banned, like [Monster Reborn] =X

- Mwahahahahahahahahaha! Just when I said that I missed my old deck that was using this card only last friday, it got unbanned this week! lol! Time for that legendary deck to return!

- Okay, [Gladial Beasts] decks might be sort of harder to play now? But I wonder, why don't they restricted [Gladial Beast - Gyzarus] instead? Hmmm... Okay, I can also dis-assemble my [Gladial Beasts] deck already!

- This Macdonald Uncle is just too strong! Enabling you to take control of [Stardust Dragon] or even stronger monsters makes this card abit too godly for a level 6, with such a high attack power too!

- Expected! This card boosts up the [Dark Syncro] and [Zombie Syncro] decks way too fast! Oh my god? My [Destiny Diamond Carrier] deck is also affected! Ah!!!

- Hmmmmm.... Too gay.... With the return of [Chaos Sorcerer]... Restricted this card to 1 reduces the chances of a one turn kill for Dark Decks?

Alright! The above are my thoughts for the latest banlist! Truthfully though, this isn't the banlist that I like the most, true that it is quite refreshing and some would be happy at the return of [Chaos Sorcerer], but still, in this current meta, special summoning monsters doesn't seem to be that easy anymore. So oh well~ Time to run away from below DS's house with all these cards! Mwahahahahahahaha! See you again desu!

Card Review: Stargazing Beast Garriz

Alright guys~! Its has really been awhile since my last review! Well projects are still strangling my neck tightly so I don't really have much time these days to update! Well enough excuses! Lets get the review going! Today's review will be on a card given by the [Yu-Gi-Oh! Tagforce 3] game! The card is [Stargazing Beast Garriz]!

Attribute: Earth, Type: Beast
Effect Monster, 3 Stars, Atk 800/Def 800
Activate by revealing this card in your hand to your opponent. Send the top card of your deck to the graveyard. If it is a monster, inflict damage equal to 200 X the level of the monster to your opponent's lifepoints and then special summon this card from your hand. If it is not a monster, destroy this card.

Here is the star for today! Whats good and not good about this card? Lets get on with it!

Well "Garriz" here doesn't have a high attack strength nor a high defense strength too. However its effects are quite versatile in alot of decks these days. But it also depends alot on the controller's luck!

Decks such as the [Destiny Diamond Carrier] can surely carry a great ally such as [Stargazing Beast Garriz]. It makes the deck not a must to use [Zombie Carrier]'s effect to place a magic at the top of deck always. You can always put a monster such as [D-HERO Diabolicguy] on the top of your deck when you do not have [Destiny Draw] or [Dark Grepher] to discard him. And then activate [Stargazing Beast Garriz]'s effect to send your [D-HERO Diabolicguy] that is located at the top of your deck to the graveyard! Not to mention dealing a total amount of 1200 damage to your opponent at the same time! (Sounds alot like [Dark Dive Bomber] huh? Obviously it is much better =X)

However there a few ways to counter this card's effect! For example, when a player activates [Stargazing Beast Garriz]'s effect to reveal itself as a cost. You can always chain a [Mind Crush] to get rid of "Garriz"! ~~Or like the always famous [Royal Oppression] will do the job indefinitely.~~ [Macro Cosmos] will also render [Stargazing Beast Garriz] useless because you have to send the top card of your deck to the GRAVEYARD to be able to special summon "Garriz" onto the field. If [Macro Cosmos] was already on the field, you would not be able to activate [Stargazing Beast Garriz]'s effect. Oh yeah! Not to mention that [Dimension Fissure] will also do the same thing, rendering [Stargazing Beast Garriz] useless. So... Look out for these cards!

A few nicely done combos with this deck can also be... Using "Garriz's" effect to send a [Lightlord Beast -Wulf] from the top of your deck to the graveyard, inflicting 800 damage and then special summoning both "Wulf" and "Garriz" onto your field. Quite a nice trick for you to release those two for a advance summon of a extremely strong monster such as [Obelisk The Tormentor], [Light And Darkness Dragon] , [Angel Christia] ("Vahalla" is just enough!) and so much more!

Card Review : Assault Armor

Alright readers! This is the weekly update that I've promised! Today's card review will be on a pretty old card I presume? Today's review will be on a card from the Academy Duel Disk! The [Assault Armor]!

Equipment Magic
While the only monster card is a Warrior-Type monster on your field, equip it to that monster.
The equipped monster gains 300 attack points. During your Main phase, you can send this card to the graveyard and the equipped monster is able to attack twice in this turn's Battle Phase.

Okay then, lets see what is this equipment's pros and cons! Firstly, it has quite a big drawback of only able to be equipped to a Warrior-Type monster and only if the Warrior-Type monster is the ONLY monster existing on your side of the field! But I guess that such problems wouldn't be existing to a pure Warrior-Type monster deck right? (Hint: My [Wrath Of Neos MK IV] deck!!!!)

As for the second part, this equipment only increases the equipped monster's attack points by 300? Well that isn't much, but it increases [E-HERO Neos] attack strength to 2800!!!!(I still think it isn't enough! They should make [E-HERO Neos] have 3000 attack strength!) But most importantly is the last effect for this equipment! The ability of losing the plus 300 attack strength effect in exchange for the effect for the equipped monster to be able to attack twice in that turn's battle phase is quite powerful!

Surely people would just say this. "Lets just forget about this equipment magic and use [Mataza The Zapper]!".

But I would say this, "But [Assault Armor] can be equipped to any Warrior-Type monster man!"

There is such a very painful combo for such a equipment card! And I'm sure you readers are pretty familiar with it!

Step 1: Equip [Assault Armor] to a Light Attribute Warrior-Type monster.

Step 2: Activate [Assault Armor]'s "attacking twice" effect.

Step 3: Declare attack!

Step 4: Damage calculation! Throw a couple of [Honest] from your hand!

Step 5: The damage ain't enough? ATTACK AGAIN!

Step 6: I think your opponent is almost dead?

Step 7: If not? I think you may need more luck!

So this card is pretty powerful don't you think? But there are tons of ways to counter it! [Cyclone] destroys it before you are able to use the "Attacking twice" effect. [Magic Shield Type 8] or cards that jams magic also counters it totally. So like what I will always say, watch out for them!

Another best combo for this card would be, its searchable by [Arms Hole]!(thats why it came together with it?)

Card Review : Obelisk The Tormentor

Well guys! Its been quite awhile since the last update! Today's post will be on the first ever god card that is able to really be played in a normal duel! [Obelisk The Tormentor]! Though broken cards should not really be reviewed, lets see the pros and cons of this "God" card!

Effect Monster, 10 stars, Atk 4000/ Def 4000
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set except by Releasing 3 monsters. This card's Summon cannot be negated. When this card is Normal Summoned, the effects of Magic, Trap and Effect Monsters cannot be activated. This card cannot be targeted by the effects of Magic, Traps, or Effect Monsters. If this card is Special Summoned, it is sent to the Graveyard during the End Phase. You can Release 2 monsters to destroy all monsters your opponent controls. This card cannot declare an attack during the turn you activate this effect.

Well this "God" card sure has a huge Normal Summoning restriction to it, being only able to be normal summoned by releasing 3 monsters! Now even though you may activate the effects of [Cost Down] or cards that reduces this "God's" level, it still needs 3 sacrifices to be normal summoned! So its unlike cards such as [D-HERO Bloo-D], [D-HERO Dogmaguy] and so on so forth that uses 3 monsters as sacrifices for their SPECIAL SUMMONING =(.... But now, what makes the normal summon worth it is the aftermath of after it has been summoned! When [Obelisk The Tormentor] is being normal summoned successfully, the effects of magic, trap and effect monsters cannot be activated! So there will not be any [Torrential Tribute], [Bottomless Trap Hole] and [Trap Hole] nonsense!

But even so, usually such monsters with big attack strength, are usually used to "kill" the opponent in the turn that they were summoned!(Though not really true most of the time! I blame [Necro Gardna]!) Its rather a relief that [Obelisk The Tormentor] can be SPECIAL SUMMONED! But the drawback of it is that [Obelisk The Tormentor] will be sent to the graveyard during the turn it was special summoned. But I say, special summoning is actually one of the best thing about this "God". In these days, special summoning seems to be just ticking ur finger! If you readers out there did buy the Vjump that gave this "God" card, there are certain combos inside it for [Obelisk The Tormentor]. Special summoning wise, zombie decks are rather good in it! [Book Of Life], [Il Bud], [Mezuki] and so on so forth! Of course best Combo-ed with [Undead World]! And if the plans fail with your opponent using [D.D Crow] on your "God" card, revive it back from the out of game pile by using [D.D.R]! Now these are usually not applicable to cards like [D-HERO Bloo-D] and friends. So I guess special summoning this card with no releases is actually quite powerful lol.

But guys, the text did read that, only when this card is NORMAL SUMMONED, will the effects of magic, trap and effect monsters cannot be activated. But when the god is... SPECIAL SUMMONED, the effects of magic, trap and effect monsters can still be activated! Which is quite a headache too!

Now lets go on to the effect of, this card cannot be single targetted by the effects of magic, trap and monster effects. Which means [Obelisk The Tormentor] is quite safe from the effects of cards like [Sakuretsu Armor], [Dimension Prison], [Shrink], [Enemy Controller], [Dark End Dragon], [Brionac - Dragon OF The Ice Boundary] but not from cards that blasts this god away from the field like [Mirror Force], [Torrential Tribute], [Lightning Vortex] and more. So do watch out for cards like these if you would want your [Obelisk The Tormentor] to survive longer on the field!

As for the last effect of this "God" card, you can release 2 monsters on your side of the field to destroy all monster on the opponent's side of the field, however if you activate this effect, this monster will be unable to announce an attack in this turn! Quite a nice effect yet a huge drawback for it, but just to make it balanced though!(I wonder where is the extra effect of dealing 4000 damage that is from the anime! T_T) However, for such an effect, I wouldn't recommend on using it on a SPECIAL SUMMONED [Obelisk The Tormentor]. As it only survives for that turn and then it will be sent to the graveyard, unless you are really very desperate, such moves shouldn't really be taken? A life saver and a dilenma to use this effect at times, yet powerful!

Well I guess thats all for the review on this "God" card! But I wonder why didn't the creator Kazuki Takahashi-san create [Slifer The Sky Dragon] first!(Its just my most favourite god =X) Well I guess Konami has their reasons too I guess? Card Review : Trap Eater

Hey guys! Been awhile since the last update! And since [Crimson Crisis] has been released for around 2 weeks or so now, I guess its time for a new card review that we have not been doing for quite some time! Today's review will be on a card from [Crimson Crisis]! And it is the... [Trap Eater]!

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 1 Face-Up trap card that your opponent controls to the graveyard.

Well seeing that there is almost no easy way to summon this card nor use it for a Synchro Summon... What good is this monster?! True that it is a level 4 monster with nice fighter stats of an attack strength of 1900 points and a defense strength of 1600 points... But still, there is almost no easy way to summon it out except by sending a face-up trap that your opponent controls to the graveyard! But however people! There are easy ways to summon this card out in our current meta! There are quite alot of [Meta Beat] decks that are packed with [Royal Oppression] or [Skill Drain], which makes those cards nice food for this little guy here to be summoned out!

So hmmm... Are there anymore good points about this card? Well there sure is! This card's attribute is a DARK attribute, which might make it attractive to be placed inside [Dark Armed Synchro] decks, since that deck is a deck that is afraid of the two above mentioned continuous trap cards and also [Dark Absorbing Mirror], this card might just make your deck flow easier and not be that afraid of the above mentioned!

Overall, this card may be powerful. But I would advise placing this card in the side deck first instead of straight away putting it into your main deck. You wouldn't know if your opponent will be playing powerful continuous traps till you get to test play with them! So it is better to be placed inside the side deck. Alright then! Deck Review: Junkyard Assault MK I

Hey! Been awhile since the last update! Today's post will be about a deck that I have been testing out recently! It proves to be quite successful at times unless you have an extremely bad hand!(What am I talking here! Every deck with an extremely bad hand has bad times!) And this deck was built out of boredom as I actually saw this pile of cards on my study table... So I decided to make a deck out of them! Below here is the decklist!

As you can see why is this deck called a [Junkyard] deck is because of all the cards that are somehow unrelated to each other! You have only seen 6 [Lightlord] monsters in the deck!
But oh well, basically this deck works by depending alot on the graveyard. So therefore cards that sends cards to the graveyard is heavily used in the deck! Such as [Lightlord Paladin - Jean], [Lightlord Hunter - Raikou], [Card Gunner] and etc are all cards that sends cards to the graveyard from your deck. And of course, cards that has their effect activated in the graveyard or targets the graveyard are also included! Like [Junk Synchron], [Bolt Hedgehog] and [Necro Gardna].

And the deck is also based on using your [Junk Synchron] on reviving a monster first before it is used for a Synchro Summon! So why not gain some benefit from such an effect first? [Cards Of Safe Return] allows you to draw cards whenever you revive a monster from your graveyard to the field. I'm sure that you guys have been exposed to such a card when you are up against decks like [Undead Synchro]. And in order to keep re-doing the cycle, cards like [Dark Burst] has been added in order for you to keep recycling your [Junk Synchron] for more Synchro Summon nonsense! And also to draw more cards out of [Cards Of Safe Return]!

As for the Extra Deck of this deck, I would recommend 3 [Mist Wurm] inside it because this deck is able to Synchro Summon out level 9 monsters quite easily. And also level 5 and level 6, more of the odd number level monsters I would say! So why not try this deck out? Its cheap and easy to play! And keep your eyes peeled because I think that MK II of this deck might be out really soon! I hope! =X

C.D.L Duel Kingdom Tournament on 2/11/08

Well participated in this awesome event yesterday in order to test my deck's new build with some pressure on it! However this was the results for yesterday's match-ups.

First Match VS Joel (Meta Gadget)
XOX = Lose

Lost in the first round because my magic and trap cards were just not as much as the ones that he got in his starting hand! So of course... He took control of the game very quickly as expected and thus causing my lost to him in the first round. Won him in the second round due to him having a monster hand full of gadgets and only 1 trap card in his starting hand. So I just rushed him down and went in for the win! Lost to him in the third round due to the ever powerful [Royal Oppression] =(.... But It was a really nice match =D...

Second Match VS Luo Han (Undead Syncro)
OO- = Win

Won in the first round due to the luckiest crow on earth! The [D.D Crow] that is always in my hand!(P.S. I did not cheat!) Won in the second round because fortunately, the lucky crow was also in my starting hand!(P.S. I really did not cheat!)

Third Match VS Kenneth [not this blog's master] (Beast Syncro)
OO- = Win

Actually I would think that he could have won me since he was already in control with [Cold Wave] and [Dark Armed Dragon] on his field! But I saw the light and managed to turn the tables! That was just luck though! In the second round, I tried to control with [Raiou]! But however he keeps using my monsters as Syncro Materials!(P.S. I blame [Mind Control]!) Managed to win by gaining back control... One of the nicest match I had that day. Hurry find your [Natural Beast] and add it into your extra deck =D!

Fourth Match VS Desmond (Meta Gadget)
XOX = Lose

Lost in the first round as usual I had bad hand again.... Which resulting in me having lost control against his deck. Won in the second round due to [Cold Wave] and [Gladial Beast Heraklonis]. Lost in the third round because I had 2 [E-HERO Prismer] in my hand with [Raiou] , [Gladial Beast Chariot], [Solemn Judgment]. Then I drew the 3rd [E-HERO Prismer] as my 6th card! The thing was, all of my [E-HERO Prismer] got wiped out by [Bottomless Trap Hole] or either [Compulsory Evacuation Device]! Oh ya I also drew [Gladial Beast Chariot] as my 2nd turn's 7th card!( I think Baha passed on to me his Casino De Baha luck! Oh noes!) Well it was quite a nice match!

So I died-ed in this tournament! Will have to improve my deck further! Might also be participating next week, who knows? Well its time to sign off now! Till next time!

Card Rulings: Burial From A Different Dimension

Hey, there seems to be a little confusion among the players out there between when [Dimension Fissure] is face-up on the field and [Burial From A Different Dimension] is activated, the monsters will be removed away from the game again. As what seems to be from the upperdeck side. But through some researching of the FAQ page and the UDE forum. I got the answer that the monsters will be returned to the graveyard, and will not be removed away from the game again. As the monster is not "Sent" to the grave, but "Returned" to the grave instead. Link below for reference. Thanks to upperdeck community for helping me out with this.

Deck Review: Destiny Diamond Carrier

Hey! Its been awhile since my last update. Well today's update will also be on a deck that I've been playing for quite a long time while I was pondering whether to review the deck or not. Between the 3 people of Baha, Kenneth and Me. I was the last person playing this deck lol! So ya, its perhaps like I'm actually continuing their ideas. However, there might already be people that has created this deck long long ago. And I do not claim credit for the creation of this deck too. Just putting up the decklist to share with everyone =X.

This is actually almost the same as a normal standard [Destiny Dark Armed] deck. Just that it has more draw power. And thus sometimes with even faster draw power, comes more speed but giving up control power as well. If you want to win, you'd better perform an OTK most of the time while you'd still have a chance. Or not don't regret when the deck runs out of steam! Okay below here is the decklist for the deck [Destiny Diamond Carrier]!

Well okay! Have you readers read the decklist properly already? Well the system for this deck is actually very simple. Draw till you have your killing move set in place. Same killing move as Baha's or anyone's [Syncro Dark Armed] deck. Just Syncro Syncro Syncro and then GYAAAAAAAAAAA! to win. Simple right? This deck might just be a little faster at times because of a certain combo like this.

Step 1: Activate [Zombie Carrier] effect, select from your hand either of these 2 cards. [Destiny Draw] or [Beginning Of The End] to be placed at the top of your deck. Preferably these 2 cards rather than [Allure Of Darkness]. Why? Lets see Step 2!

Step 2: Summon [D-HERO Diamondguy] and activate its effect to look at the top card of your deck and go "Oh noes! I just overturned a [Beginning Of The End]/[Destiny Draw]! Looks like I will be able to draw for free in the next turn!" Now why did I say that I prefer these 2 cards instead of [Allure Of Darkness] for this? Its because [Allure Of Darkness] will still have you to remove a Dark Attribute monster from your hand away from the game. While the other 2 just allows you to draw cards for no costs or drawbacks at all! Its free!

Step 3: Syncro! If you are able to kill your opponent in that turn, it would be great. However if you can't....

Step 4: There is no worries! Your hand is refilled once again by either [Beginning Of The End] or [Destiny Draw] effect! And then try to kill your opponent in that turn! I would applaud for you if you still have not drawn anything to kill your opponent after such a successful stunt! However ya.. There are bad luck sometimes... So ya... lol.. Just watch out for cards like [D.D Crow] which would remove the magic card in the grave before it will be able to activate its effect on the next turn!

So yup! That is how the deck "works"! However, it still is able to run out of steam pretty fast though. So becareful on how you are going to play your cards. Like what Kenneth once told me while he played this deck "This deck kills your brain cells!". So you get what is he trying to say to all of you readers out there too right? You have to think think think when using this deck!

The cards that totally disrupts this deck's systems would be cards like [Royal Oppression] or cards that totally stops Special Summoning as you won't be able to Syncro Summon to make a killing move against your opponent. And as I said before, cards like [D.D Crow] will also be able to stop this deck's super draw engine by removing the magic card in the grave before it can be activated in the next turn! However, you might want the [D.D Crow] to remove the magic instead of some important cards sometimes....(Some tricking skills is required!)... But all that aside, the card [Macro Cosmo] will just destroy this deck totally! So beware of these cards! Some side-decking is required if you are against decks with such cards.

But still, the good points about this deck is the drawing engine that can make you happy while at the same time, make your opponent rather irritated at your big hand size lololololol. It can be a competitive deck. But how well will it go? Perhaps I will be using this deck soon in some tournament in my country. And if anyone has more ideas on how to improve this deck, don't be scared and just tag us at our tagboard!

Deck Review: Inferno Celestial

Hey guys! Sorry for the slow updates! Just finished my exams recently so I'll have more time to update already! Today's post will not be on a card review but on a deck that I played quite awhile ago but was just a little lazy to post it up! =X... The deck is the [Inferno Celestial] deck that I made. Perhaps some people might have thought about the deck idea already but ya lol. And do note about this: Failure to have the consistency in the deck is no problem of mine! Alright lets get started! This deck's idea is to swarm your field with big-sized monsters such as [The Splendid VENUS] and [Sky Paladin - Neo Parshath] to rush your opponent into the core! You can swarm your field with them easily by doing this combo! Firstly, activate the quick-play magic card [Celestial Transformation] to special summon from your hand, an Angel type monster onto your side of the field. However, the special summoned Angel type monster will have its attack halved! And during the Endphase of the turn, it will be destroyed. Not such a strong effect right? But how about using the "halving attack points" effect to a better use? Lets say that we used the [Celestial Transformation] on [The Splendid VENUS]. It'll have its attack points halved to 1400. And since its attack is 1400, we can activate another quick-play magic card called [Inferno Reckless Summon] onto the 1400 attack [The Splendid VENUS]! And by the effect of [Inferno Reckless Summon], we are able to special summon from our deck, hand or the graveyard. All copies of [The Splendid VENUS]! But in order to start off the above combo, your opponent will also need to have a face-up monster on his/her field too.

The above combo can be countered easily by the latest meta-killing cards such as [Royal Oppression] or even [Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo]. Or in the worst case scenario, you might just even get the jackpot of having your opponent using [Bottomless Trap Hole] when you've special summoned all of your normal 2800 attack [The Splendid VENUS]! However in this deck, there are cards that might just prevent all the above! We have cards like [Solemn Judgment] and [Royal Decree] for them! But not everyday is a sunday too right? I played this deck against Baha and his [Meta-Beat] deck and I died horribly! Anyway this was a fun deck to play LOL =X...

And speaking about the [Inferno Reckless Summon] combo, this deck is also able to allow the deck user to fully spam all of your [Honest] turn after turn!(Note: May not always be true). Since [Honest] by itself is already a 1100 attack monster. Special summoning it by either of the special summoning cards in the deck will allow you to activate [Inferno Reckless Summon] for mass [Honest] spamming usage!

This deck might also be able to fight well against Dragon type monsters sometimes because of the 3 copies of [Victoria]! Use it to take control of Dragon Type monsters such as [Stardust Dragon], [Dark End Dragon], [Red Daemon Dragon], [Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon] or... [Blue Eyes White Dragon] and so on so forth. Nothing is really too big for this deck because of the [Honest] spamming ability. But if you are up against a [Macro Cosmo] deck.. Then it may be quite hard to use [Honest] for offensive or defensive measures! So watch out for it!

And remember the card review that I did for [The Splendid VENUS]? We could also use the [Royal Decree] for the "only your opponent's traps" combo! I managed to win Baha's [Meta-Beat] deck twice because of the [Royal Decree], but that was just all luck =X

This deck doesn't have much consistency so I placed 2 copies of [Card Trader] inside to shuffle back those extra copies of the big-sized angels such as [The Splendid VENUS] or [Sky Paladin - Neo Parshath] into the deck. And I think that this deck can be further made stronger if I had [Athena] to place inside the deck =X But ya there is always Duel Online, but did not have time to play... (oops! Gonna get scolded by Baha)

In anyways, this deck's good point is being able to swarm the field fast and having high offensive and defensive strength at times. But the bad point about it is its inconsistency. Well this is just to provide a fun decklist for you people out there to try it out and have some fun! If you have anymore ideas on how to improve this deck, you can always tag us at our tagboard. OCG Extra Pack!

Hi, I noticed this blog is rather dead cuz neither Colin or I have the time to update.
(Colin is mugging for his exams while I'm busy with my project at school and with the guitar).

Anyway, here's a post for my random comments on the lastest OCG extra pack which will probably come to your nearest Comic Connection or wadever 2moro although its already available at some places.

For starters, I think the rarity of some cards ought to be laughed at.

- Gate Watcher of Hell Ill Blood(OCG)/ Il Bud(TCG)
Congrats to those who spent a bomb to buy this secret rare TCG card a year ago, now its common wtf! and I was speculating it'd be a super rare foil or something. Bleh~

- Dark Grepher
Another card which I had expected it to be at least a super rare. Became another common card.

- Gladial-Beast Oktavius
Why is this even a foil? I think u'd rather use Gladial-Beast - Bestorourii instead? For contact fusion purposes too. Argh! I nearly tore this when I opened it from a pack.

Cards worth getting from this really really small set:

- Grandmaster of the Six Samurai
I hope to see Six Samurai decks soon! =D

- Fallen Angel Zerato
A very TCG thing in the typical Dark Arm decks.

- Allure of Darkness
I think this is what everyone has been waiting for.

- Slave Tiger
Now the OCG Gladial Beasts are complete. I think E-Hero Prismer is much useful though.

- Lonefire Blossom
Very cool plant card!

- Flame Emperor Imperial Guard
Although Fire/Pyro themed decks were nvr a really big thing, maybe this card helps!

Well, thats about it. The rest of the cards are just...... oh well.

Thoughts on Banlist (09/2008) Part 2!

Yoz guys! I think its my turn to post about my views on the latest banlist that is going to take effect on the 1st of September 2008!

Newly Banned:

Dark Magician of Chaos 「混沌の黒魔術師」
- Quite expected in the sense because of the [Arms Hole] and [D.D.R] infinity loop. And also quite power in the Return from out of game decks. Like the Destiny Blade decks. And perhaps because [Allure of Darkness] is coming out in OCG soon?

Destiny Hero - Disk Commander 「Ｄ－ＨＥＲＯディスクガイ」
- Another expected card. Because of cards like [Limit Reverse] and [Angel Lift] that has appeared, revival has became quite an easy job for this card. And the drawing cards ability is just pure win!

Dimension Fusion 「次元融合」
- Since TCG decided to ban this card in their banlist. It would be alright for OCG to follow the banlist too. Able to stop all kinds of FTK and OTK decks that relies on the "Out of Game" pile.

Premature Burial 「早すぎた埋葬」
- Sometimes I would prefer this over [Monster Reborn], perhaps it is because that this card can be taken back by [Arms Hole]? Oh well at least Konami is kind enough to still let us have [Monster Reborn]...?

Newly Restricted to 1:

Cyber Dragon 「サイバー・ドラゴン」
- Trying to slow down Syncro Summoning? Or even the summoning of [Chimeratech Fortress Dragon]?(But its rather rarely seen these days =X) .

- Not as strong as [Lightlord Magician - Laila] , but a great fighter with a great effect! Put them together = Magician decks anyone?

- Um..... 2 is still... VERY PLAYABLE! With [Allure Of Darkness] coming out. The draw power is still there for this card to be added into the hand quickly!

Phantom of Chaos 「ファントム・オブ・カオス」
- I'm not sure on why they banned it. Hmmm... Time to investigate!

Rescue Cat 「レスキューキャット」
- Further slowly down this card's "built for it" deck!

Card of Safe Return 「生還の宝札」
- Draw power is getting weaker in Zombie decks! But there is still draw power....

Chain Strike 「連鎖爆撃」
- Ooooooooo! Time for Burn decks to revive?!

Nobleman of Crossout 「抹殺の使徒」
- Lots of flip effect monsters hate seen here.

Newly Unrestricted/Released from Banlist

- People rarely play it now... However, will it return to its glorious days?

- Many people has gotten 3 of these in their hands before... But there is still [Zombie Carrier] to try to help solve the problem for you. =D

- [Gem Beast] is getting more firepower! [Arms Hole] also has more targets! Cool!

- Yes! I'm loving it! Its time to search search and more search!

- Oh! New deck ideas inside my head!

Thoughts on the banlist:

Actually I think that the banned part of this list is making it quite balanced for the game. Or just a little?

The restricted to 1 cards is actually quite focusing on the special summoning cards that are in OTK or FTK decks. Or just to slow down Syncro Summoning decks. I am actually quite glad that they didn't touch on [E-HERO Prismer] like they should! (just for the [Gladial Beast] decks =X) And they did not touch on [Wicked Emperor Gaius] too! Awwww...

As for the restrict to 2 section.. It makes [Lightlord] and [Dark Armed Dragon] decks a little slower, but there is still support cards for them that makes them just as fast as last time.

As for the cards that were released from the list. It ain't really that surprising. And ya.. I'm hoping to see more new decks soon!

Everything on this part of the banlist was rather expected.

And with Premature Burial gone, I think we've all wasted quite abit on Armshole don't you think?
Dimension Fusion was a banned on the TCG, I guess OCG adapted it; I guess there were decks abusing it too.

For Chain Strike... I didn't know Chain burn decks were still an IN thing... Maybe I'm just blind.
Nobleman of Crossout... I nvr played much of this card anyway.

Reinforcements, boost to Warrior decks like COLIN'S
Royal Decree, isit a good or bad thing?

Thoughts on overall ban:
Konami has did it again! Make us spend the $ on the cards and ban them!
Oh well whats new. Although they really did do a good job on this ban, for the banned part only.
I'll hope to see other nicer combo decks soon!

Card Review : Pedigree Of The Destruction God

Hey guys! Its time for a new card review for one of the cards inside the [Crossroad Of Chaos] booster pack! The card that I'm reviewing today is.... [Pedigree Of The Destruction God]! So sit back and enjoy reading!

[Pedigree Of The Destruction God]
Normal Trap
Activate only by selecting a face-up level 8 monster that you control during the turn that a defense position monster your opponent controls is destroyed. During this turn, the selected monster is able to attack twice in the Battle Phase.

Okay this trap looks abit hard to use huh? Being have to select only a level 8 monster and also when your opponent's defense position monster is destroyed, will then you are able to activate this trap! However certain combos are able to secure an easy usage for this card! Lets go through the various methods of using it now!

Cards that are able to combo quite well with this card will be [Shield Crush], [Tradegy] , [Red Daemon's Dragon] , [Mystic Swordsman LV 2] , [Drillroid] or just any card that has an effect to destroy defense position monsters!

Cards that are able to help the above cards start the combo are like [Enemy Controller] , [Jutte Knight], [Book Of Moon] which is able to change the mode of your opponent's monsters. Change them to defense mode for you to activate the above cards like [Shield Crush] and [Tradegy]! Do note that [Book Of Moon] will not help you in activating [Tradegy], as your opponent's Face-Up attack position monster has to be changed to Face-Up defense position in order to activate it.

Another good thing about [Pedigree Of The Destruction God] is that the opponent's defense position monster need not be sent to the graveyard after being destroyed! Which means that when you destroy opponent's defense position token-type monsters, it can be activated then. Which makes it even easier to use! Token-type monsters like [Scapegoat] tokens, [Ojama] tokens are good targets!

And some people might also be asking.

"Oh My God! We can only use it on level 8 monsters! Isn't it too restricting for us?! As level 8 monsters are quite hard to summon out!"

Well actually in these days, having to summon out a level 8 monster ain't that hard as it seems! With that much Special Summoning cards running around. You don't really need to Normal Summon your level 8 monsters! Special Summon them instead! However, certain level 8 monsters are easy to normal and special summon! [God Beast King - Barbaros] is able to be summoned without any sacrifices by halving its attack points! But its still a level 8 monster! And also by sacrificing 3 monsters to it to activate its field destruction effect, it will be able to clear away the defense position monsters on your opponent's side of the field! Thus also enabling you to use [Pedigree Of The Destruction God]!

Some bad points about this card is also that the controller has to make the first move in order to activate it! [Stardust Dragon] , [My Body As A Shield] and [Prime Material Dragon] will be able to stop the destruction effects of the cards like [Shield Crush] and [Tradegy]! So watch out for them!

Well here goes! This deck basically makes full use of [E-HERO Prismer] effect on being able to grab hold the names of the fusion material monsters that it sends to the graveyard! And of course, what do we do with the name of the fusion material monster that [E-HERO Prismer] has got hold of? We will also be using it to our full advantage! As in my previous [Shining Dragoon] decklist. I had [E-HERO Prismer] copy the name of [Blue Eyes White Dragon] in order for me to activate the magic card [Burst Stream Of Destruction]. Those that tried out the deck with me should know how powerful when a magic card like that destroys the opponent's field totally!

But in this deck, the name that [E-HERO Prismer] is going to copy is not [Blue Eyes White Dragon] but as what the deck name sounds like... The name that [E-HERO Prismer] is going to copy will be [E-HERO Neos]. Why? Well just for the sake of activating [E-HERO Neos] strongest magic card! [Wrath Of Neos] of course! It packs a total field destruction effect, and easy to use with [E-HERO Prismer] helping you.

But other than being able to use [Wrath Of Neos] easily, this deck is also able to revive [E-HERO Neos] even faster because of [E-HERO Prismer] effect of sending it to the graveyard. And that is what the 3 copies of [O - Oversoul] is there for! Being able to revive your [E-HERO Neos] from the graveyard to smack your opponent in the face for 2500 damage right after the aftermath of [Wrath Of Neos] effect!

And not to say even without the help of [O - Oversoul] of reviving your [E-HERO Neos] and [E-HERO Another Neos] in the graveyard. There is another card that works well with the both of them! As well as it is very compatible with [E-HERO Prismer] effect. [Hero Blast] will be that trap card's name! Being able to retrieve an Normal [E-HERO] monster in your graveyard to destroy a face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field whose attack is equal or lower than the card you've retrieved is no small joke! Though the highest attack monster that you can possibly destroy will be at the max of 2500 attack points... =(.. (Sometimes I wonder why couldn't Konami make [E-HERO Neos] a 3000 attack monster?! Ignore this as I'm only joking!)

And what do you do when you have a [E-HERO Neos] stuck in your hand? A good way would be to actually use it for the card [Commoner's Charity] as what this deck lacks sometimes is draw power! Though the draw speed is slow, but at least its also quite compatible with a special [E-HERO] inside this deck too! [E-HERO Voltech] totally revives the removed away from game [E-HERO Neos] that was being used by [Commoner's Charity]! Another card to be combo with [E-HERO Voltech] would be [Freed The Brave Wanderer]... This card can be quite a lifesaver at times when you have monsters such as [Dark Armed Dragon] that your [Hero Blast] cannot kill!(That is why I said that Konami should make [E-HERO Neos] a 3000 attack monster! Joking!)

What if sometimes you do have the power to search for [E-HERO Prismer] to fill your grave with [E-HERO Neos]? And you are also stuck in a almost unable-to-turn-the-tables situation? This card might actually save your life and also help fill the grave for you! [Lightlord Hunter - Raikou] is able to destroy any card on the field and then overturn the top 3 cards of your deck to the graveyard.. Though some luck is greatly needed here to overturn monsters like [E-HERO Neos] , [E-HERO Another Neos] or just any Light Attribute monsters needed for [Freed The Brave Wanderer] to use his effect!

And since every single monster in this deck belongs to the attribute of Light.. Why not ask for the help of [Honest]? This card acts as a defensive as well as an offensive card for this deck! Needless to say what wonders it can do right? Well in my [Wrath Of Neos MK V] , the deck had the combo of [E-HERO Neos] + [Assault Armor] + [Honest] = oh my god your opponent is almost dead or already dead combo! Credits goes to Baha for showing me the video about Dian Zhang! That inspired me to search for my third copy of [Assault Armor]!

This deck is quite good on the defense as well as on the offensive. But cards like [D.D Crow] , [Kycoo The Ghost Destroyer] or even [Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo] can destroy this deck inside out! As this deck mostly relies on the cards in the graveyard and special summonings in order to perform its stunts! Well sorry for the long review about this deck! Well it IS my signature deck....*cough cough*.... Anyways! Its been a long while since I did a review that is this long! Hope you guys didn't get too tired in reading it.. =(... Thoughts on M'sian Championships

Hey all! This is Goulian here! The champion from M'sian was a duelist using a [Emperor] deck as from what I heard from Yan Shen. Thanks for the info! Though I do not have the decklist =(...
Anyway from the trip to M'sia, we can see alot of duelists having alot of different ideas! Of course on alot of their different decks!

- Earth Syncro Deck:

Uses [Gigantes] to special summon itself and also to use [Jutte Knight] for syncro! Quite a nice idea!

- Dark Calling Special Version:

Now this was used by Yan Shen, and another duelist which I forgot the name >.<... Both of theirs was extremely fast! I got OTKed quite quickly by them too!

Well these are the decks that are worth looking and building too! The cards they had inside were sorta fresh ideas to me lol... And I also found out that the most feared Syncro Monster in M'sia is.... [Red Daemon Dragon]! Because they have like alot of face down defense position monsters de ar... Well okay! Till next time! Thoughts on World Championship 08

Hi! Its Kenneth here finally doing a report on today's World Championship that took place at Kallang Leisure Park.

Yes omg we've became noobs!

I probably won't talk about my matches since all of them are practically crappy.
Its either a Dark Armed variant or Lightlord. Nothing else. I only won 3 and lost 2 matches in the swiss rounds and since everyone I play with has imbalanced luck (ppl summoning afew Dark Armed Dragons/Judgement Dragoon in a turn)I am quite speechless about my lost. lol.

Don't ask me who are all of them, I can only recognise Sebestian, Fish, Baha, Wan Xin & Eu Yong Siang. Ok thats actually quite alot... and one guy seems to be missing from the picture.

I only know Baha was 1st and Fish was 2nd.

Grats to Bahamut84 from Dueling Days for winning this year's 2008 World Championship tournament.

To those who didn't do well (esp me and Colin), lets just try harder next time!

Card Review: Junk Synchron

It's been a real while since I've done my card review so I guess it's about time I do one. (I think all my card reviews starts with this sentence)

Today lets talk about Fuudou Yuusei's most godlike topdecked card.

Effect: When this card is successfully Normal Summoned, Special Summon a Level 2 or lower Monster in your Graveyard in face-up Defense Position to your field. Effects of the Special Summoned monster by this effect are negated.

This card is really quite a good card on itself.

- Reinforcements of an Army
- Sangan
- Mystic Tomato

Its effect to special summon monster only works when its normal summoned though.
The drawback for such an effect is to have the summoned monster's effect negated, so no diskguy abuse for those who always loves to draw cards.
There always [Card of Safe Return] though.
Normal summoning this card itself would be summoning out a LV5 Synchro already, provided you already have a lv2 monster in the grave and it doesn't get dd crowed away.

- Junk Warrior (Only Junk Synchron can summon this)

Alternatively, u can always use this card to synchro with other non tuner monsters to summon even better or bigger synchro monsters to your liking or based on your field situation.

So, to play this card or not really is up to you. Unless its for the dark or warrior attribute or for its effect, otherwise if you're looking for it just cause its a 3 star tuner monster, I'd rather you have a look at Emergency Teleport and Pyscho Commander.

Though the card being reviewed today is quite a late news already ar? lol =X Oh well in order not to keep you guys in suspense, the card being reviewed today is [Emergency Teleport] from the most "recent" booster pack [The Duelist Genesis] !

Special Summon a level 3 or lower psychic type monster from your hand or deck. The monster summoned by this way is removed away from the game at the end phase of the turn.

Well this card is mainly used in the [Dark Syncro Shokan!] decks in Singapore as well as in Japan! We all know the extent of the gayness of this card do we? So lets see what is the powers of this card that made it so powerful!

The ability to Special Summon out a level 3 Psychic-Type monster from your hand or from your deck is a very good source of monster sacrifices for monsters like [Wicked Emperor Gaius] or [Wind Emperor Raiza]! Although there is a drawback of it being only able to Special Summon level 3 and below Psychic-Type monsters only... But to top it all off.. Its a Quick-Play magic card! Which means that it can also be used during your opponent's turn if you had set if face-down in order to activate in your opponent's turn to do some freaky stunts! Examples will be Special Summoning Psychic-Type monsters like [Clevonce] that is able to block quite an amount of enemy attacks! (Of course some life points is at stake here! Ugh!)

And since it is able to Special Summon out monsters like [Clevonce] which is another important point for this card! 3 of the Psychic-Type monsters in there which are level 3 and below are also tuners! Monsters like as said before a level 2 tuner [Clevonce] , level 1 tuner [Mental Master] and level 3 tuner [Psycho Commander]. Which in return you are able to do Syncro Summoning at very high speeds! Depending on the situations of course =D.... But the most appreciated and most usable Psychic-Type tuner will be [Clevonce]! Why? I'm sure you guys know why! And of course there are cards that totally counter [Emergency Teleport]! Cards like... [Royal Oppression] , [Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo] or just to make it simple.. Cards that totally cripples Special Summonings! And just one [Magic Seal] will just kill the [Emergency Teleport] too! T_T... But ya these are just some of the cards that can render your [Emergency Teleport] useless! So do watch out for them!

Double Card Review! [Goyou Guardian] and [Dragon Of The Ice Boundary - Brionac]

Hey all! Its my turn to update a card review on the latest Syncro type monsters! They are a new force to be reckoned with! With fast summoning speed and amazing effects.. These new Syncro monsters can prove to be a new threat in our metagame! The 2 new Syncro monsters that I will be reviewing about are from the latest [The Duelist Genesis] and the newest [Duel Terminal] cards! They are the [Goyou Guardian] and [Dragon Of The Ice Boundary - Brionac]!

First up is the [Goyou Guardian] Syncro monster!

When this card destroys your opponent's monster as a result of battle , you can Special Summon that monster onto your side of the field in face-up Defence Position.

This card is obviously GAY. Why is it GAY? We shall see why it is GAY!

- Level 6 Syncro monster! Easy to summon out! GAY!

- 2800 attack strength and 2000 defence strength for just a level 6 monster! GAY!

- Use this to rape your opponent's [D-HERO Diskguy] ! And then drag it onto your side of the field! Enabling you to draw 2 cards from your deck since it was revived onto your side to the field from the graveyard! GAY!

- Use it to destroy monsters such as [Stardust Dragon] which you will be able to Release it to block certain Destruction Effects! GAY!

- Kill more monsters like [Dark Creator] ! Revive it to your side of the field to use its revival effects! GAY!

This is an extremely short review for this GAY card , because its effect is well self-explained! And ITS JUST SO GAY! (forced to use the GAY words because Kenneth thinks that it is too GAY! )

Discard any number of cards from your hand. Which after that, return the same amount of cards on either field back to the owner's hand equal to the amount of cards that you discarded.

Now onto a serious card review. This card is from the newest [Duel Terminal] thats in Japan for now though lol. Ok being a level 6 monster with an attack strength of 2300 and a defense strength of 1400 makes this card a strong fighter but quite a weak defender! But most of the time that when this card arrives onto the field. You'd probably be able to fend off any strong monsters for your [Dragon Of The Ice Boundary - Brionac] to make a direct attack! Why is that so? Lets take a look onto its effect!

"Discard any number of cards from your hand. Which after that, return the same amount of cards on either field back to the owner's hand equal to the amount of cards that you discarded"

Quite an amazing effect I will say, being able to discard any amount of cards to bounce back on the field the equal amount of cards that was discarded from your hand! And the best of all is that, It ain't a once per turn effect! Which means that you are able to use it as many times as you like a turn! And what kind of cards are worth bouncing back on the field? Lets take a look shall we?

[Premature Burial] - Bounce it to revive as many monsters as you like to swarm your field! Reviving [D-HERO Diskguy] sounds like its going to be a big abuse!

Opponent's strong monsters! Makes sure that your opponent will have to make extra effort to summon them out again!

Or simply just do the [Rescue Cat] + [Premature Burial] combo thats on Dueling Days, Baha did that combo quite nicely and swiftly! Killing quickly too!

Being a level 6 monster allows it to be summoned out quite easily using the above combo! Repeat till your opponent falls dead to your field full of Syncro Monsters!

Well thats the end of the review for this time, Sorry that it wasn't that fantastic guys! Actually they are too broken to be further reviewed lol, we all know what kind of brokeness they do right? I promise that I will do better next time! Till then to our next update! Goulian Signing off!

Card Review: Stardust Dragon

Hi all its been awhile since I've actually posted something on this blog due to my laziness and being "busy" on Cabal and since Colin has been bugging me for this, might as well take some precious time off to write this review for Stardust Dragon.

When an effect of a Magic, Trap or Effect Monster that includes [Destroy the cards on the field] is activated, you can release this card to Negate and Destroy the card. During the End Phase that this effect was activated. And this card is in the graveyard due to being released for the activation of this effect. Special Summon this card back to your field.

Ok I'm sure we all know of this lastest card from the lastest Duelist Genesis pack and its one of the newest types of monsters in the game: Synchro. So why is everyone wanting this card? Thats because
- it doesn't need specific tuner monster to summon
- it can easily prevent destruction cards like Mirror Force & Tidal Wave
- 2500 attack can kill many things like Emperor monsters
- it looks cool enough to pawn your opponent

Baha from Dueling Days & I have been testing this card out in our decks and it sure is able to be summoned pretty quickly in a synchro based deck. In fact, everyone could probably get one for their Extra Deck as you'd never know if you get your opponent's Tuner Monster through Brainwash or something. And synchro really works fast with Psychic monsters as it has the gayest summoning card called [Urgent Teleport]. However, it can easily die to Gaius, Raiza, Ground Mole and even Death Calibur Knight(my Stardust recently died to it) or anything you can think of that uses non destruction effect to remove monsters on the field.

Overall playing this card is definitely for situational based. Of course, sometimes other Synchro monsters are worth summoning than this, but being able to stop a mass field destruction card and returning to your field(provided ur Stardust doesn't get DD Crowed or Propecy or Soul Released away) is gay. I'd still give this card a 8/10 rating cuz its my fav card of the set. =x

Card Review : Divine Fowl King Alector

Hey guys! As requested by the readers out there, I'm going to do a card review about the latest promo card released in the [Yu-Gi-Oh! R Volune 5 ] comic book! The card reviewed today is.... [Divine Fowl King Alector]! So sit back and relax while reading!

Attribute: Wind , Type: Winged Beast
Effect Monster , 6 stars , Atk 2400/Def 2000
If your opponent controls 2 or more face-up monsters with the same Attribute, you can Special Summon this card from your Hand. Once per turn select 1 face-up card on the field. Negate the effect(s) of the selected card during this turn. Only 1 [Divine Fowl King Alector] can be face-up on the field at the same time.

On watching the stats about this card. It has a decent 2400 attack strength for a level 6 monster. And also a much more superior defense of 2000 rather than the 1000 defense of the [Emperor] monsters. And by being a level 6 monster, it will be a cinch to normal summon this monster with 1 monster sacrifice! Hmmm, guessed that I should change my way about [Normal Summon] or [Sacrifice]... Okay! This card can be Advanced Summoned quite easily by Releasing cards like [Treeborn Frog] or [Dandelion].

For this card being a Wind attribute as well as a Winged Beast type allows a couple of combos to perform with it. The Wind attribute part allows this card to be a ingredient to special summon monsters like [Dark Simorgh]. While the Winged Beast type allows this card to be released for the condition to use [God Bird Attack] to destroy 2 cards on the field in the case of an "Emergency" LOL!

Well about the effects for this card. The first effect about able to Special summon this card from your hand when your opponent controls 2 or more monsters with the same attribute makes it easy for this condition to be fufilled! When your opponent activates cards like [Flames Of Demise] , [Scapegoat] , [Stray Lambs] or even [Inferno Reckless Summon] that will be able to swarm their own field with monsters of the same attribute. To be able to fufill the condition of special summoning your own [Divine Fowl King Alector] !

As for the second part of the effect for this card. Enabling this card to have the ability to negate a face-up card's effect on the field can be quite powerful at some situations. Even if the situations is about targetting your own cards on your own side of the field. Situations simliar like about targetting your own cards that can benefit you a whole lot will be like.... Targetting your own monsters like [God Beast King - Barbaros] which allows it to resume its enormous attack strength of 3000 points! Or another situation can be that you will be able to target [Beast God Machine King Barbaros UR] to allow it to actually inflict battle damage to your opponent's life points! (Do note that some of these ideas are actually suggested to me by some people that I know. I've compiled some of these information in this review =D)

Continuing on the second effect about [Divine Fowl King Alector] , using it to target cards that disallows you from using of your monsters to declare an attack against your opponent! Target cards like [Gravity Bind] , [Wall Of Revealing Light] , [Swords Of Revealing Light] , [Messenger Of Peace] or even allowing your monsters to revert back to their original positions from cards like [Level Limit - B] or [Level Limit - A]! Or even releasing yourself from lock effects like [Jinzo] or [Spell Canceller] , [Royal Decree] and so on so forth. Allowing you to continue your stunts with these card locking effects negated!

And for the third effect of this card. There can only be one [Divine Fowl King Alector] on the field at all times. This means that the early bird catches the worm! Whoever summons out [Divine Fowl King Alector] first will most probably get the upperhand earlier!

Hey all! Its been awhile again since we last updated! Well today was a day of fun and excitement! The Asian Championships held in Singapore were well planned and very organised. Much better than I had expected. Well before the tournaments were fired off... There was a side event about letting our local players pit their skills against the 4 foreign players from Taiwan , Korea , Malaysia and Hong Kong. Below are some pictures! Well lets hope that they had a great time in Singapore playing with our local players! There was really a very long queue today! All waiting to challenge the 4 representatives! LOL! Hope our local players also have their share of the excitement challenging them!

Well as for myself.. I got into the top 8 players for SG but did not get a chance to get into the top 4 placings. Only the top 4 placings will be able to play with the foreign players for the title of Asian Champion!
After all the fighting. It would seem that all 4 of our representatives managed to win their foreign opponents after a big struggle! Congratulations to them! And this year's Asian Champion is also from Singapore! Below are the pics for the prize giving session

Card Review : Honest

Phew! Its been awhile since Duel Society last gave a review to the readers that visits this site! Sorry about that as we are still as busy as usual.. Cabaling that is! LOL! Anyway today's review will be on the cover card of [Light Of Destruction] ! The card is... [Honest] !

Attribute: Light , Type: Angel
Effect Monster, 4 stars, Atk 1100/Def 1900
During your main phase, you can return this face-up card from your side of the field to your hand. When a LIGHT Attribute monster you control battles, during the damage step, you can send this card from your hand to the graveyard to have your monster's attack points increased by your opponent's monster's attack points until the end phase of this turn.

Hmmm.. Onto seeing the stats of this card.. It ain't really a fighter but quite a defender because of the stats Atk 1100/Def 1900. Being able to defend against some monsters that can be quite a killer for your level 4 and below monsters. Such as... [Vorse Raider], [Raiou] , our famous [E-HERO Airman] and many more! And since being a 1100 attack points LIGHT attribute monster... It can be searched out by [Sangan] and also being able to be special summoned out onto the field by [Shining Angel] and [Calling Nova].

Lets get onto the first effect of this awesome monster. Being able to return this face-up card from your side of the field to your hand might be quite useful sometimes. At least you'll know that you will be able to use the second effect no matter what happens! Unless your opponent has itchy hands and placed cards like [Divine Wrath] or [Mind Crash] into their decks just to counter your [Honest]!

As for the second effect of this monster. Whenever your LIGHT attribute monster battles. You can send this card from your hand to the graveyard to have the opponent's monster's attack points added onto your monster's attack points! As most of our decks are being splashed with quite alot of LIGHT Attribute monsters such as... [Cyber Dragon] , [E-HERO Prismer] , [Lightning Emperor Zaborg], [Light Emperor Kreis] , [Freed The Brave Wanderer] and the newly released [LightLord] monsters!

This card allows you to be able to fend off against any monsters that has incredibly high attack points such as.... [Five God Dragon] , [Dark Magician Of Chaos] , [Blue Eyes White Dragon] and so on so forth. And of course you can also use this card's effect on low attack points monsters to get their attack points added onto your monster just to go in for the kill!

And 1 combo that is quite impossible to do unless you have extremely powerful luck will be like this...

Example

Your [Cyber Dragon] Battles

Chain 1:You Activate [Limiter Removal]
Chain 2:You Activate [Honest]
Chain 3:You Activate [Honest]
Chain4:You Activate [Honest]

Conclusion: You get a very big fat [Cyber Dragon] that most probably will smack your opponent upside down and senseless! But this is just a thought! It might and might not happen LOL!
And yes... Whoever activated [Honest] effect first will gain the most Attack points at the end of the resolution. Always remember that Chain 1 will resolve the last. Thus the [Honest] that was activated in Chain 1 will gain the most attack points. Ouch?!
